Racing, Sports, and Parties at the Meadowlands Racetrack

Live horse racing returns to the Meadowlands Racetrack on Friday, August 30, and runs through Saturday, September 7^th, with a 6:20 pm post time. The NJ Classic Series highlights this brief 4-day meet.

Friday, August 30’s race card features eliminations (if necessary) for the New Jersey Classic Series for two- and three-year-olds of both gaits. The eight New Jersey Classic Finals are scheduled for Friday, September 6^th.

On Saturday, August 31^st, the Meadowlands hosts the annual 30 & Under Handicapping contest. The free contest is exclusively for fans between 18 and 30 and offers a $5,000 total prize pool, with prize payouts to the top four finishers.  Fans may register in the clubhouse lobby until 6:30 p.m. on the night of the contest. There is no entry fee. All contest participants will receive a free program, a $10 betting voucher, and treated to a $20 food voucher.

The brief meet ends on Saturday, September 7 with three terrific events.

The day starts with a meet and greet with New York sports legends Phil Simms and Boomer Esiason from 12 noon until 1:30 pm in the Track’s second-floor Lounge. NY Times author Todd Ehrlich moderates this special Q&A with Simms and Esiason. This event, sponsored by the FanDuel Sportsbook, is free to attend and open to anyone 21+. The Past Masters, a popular classic rock band, will play on the rooftop terrace. Music begins at 5:30 p.m. and runs until 11 p.m in between the live racing. The Terrace will have full bar and waitress service available.

Rounding out the night are the Dwarfanators! See LOS MINI ENMASCARADOS (Mini Masked Wrestlers) perform the unique Mexican Cultural Art of Lucha Libre in the Backyard ring. The performers will show off their flying aerials, scissor kicks, and wheelbarrow holds and fight to become champions. Don’t miss this dynamic cultural spectacle performance by certified Lucha Libre wrestlers. This family-friendly event starts at 7 pm, and doors open at 5 pm.
