Battle of the Masterminds

Who do you think will win our “Battle of the Meadowlands Masterminds?”
We are pitting Jess Otten, Edison Hatter, Ken Warkentin, Dave Little and Dave Brower against each other this summer in the ultimate handicapping contest. Our fans get a chance to win the nightly cash prize and have a chance to win the $10,000 grand prize on Saturday, August 6!


Battle of the Meadowlands Masterminds Rules:
• Each race night the 5 handicappers are given $500 in “mythical battle money”.
• Their mythical wagers must be on races 4-9 each night – $500 will be wagered each night by every handicapper
• The battle money wins and losses are tracked with results posted as soon as possible following Race 10
• Every night on-track there will be five drawing barrels. Each one with a corresponding Battle of the Meadowlands Masterminds name assigned. Fans can complete the entry form and deposit the slip in the barrel of their chosen handicapper prior to Race 4 each night.
• Entry forms are available in the live racing program and at the Players Club Desk.
• After Race 10 each live race night an entry from the winning handicapper barrel will be selected to win $200 betting voucher and a $50 gas card.
• On Hambletonian Day, Saturday, August 6, the winning Battle handicapper is announced.
• At the end of the Battle, the winning handicapper will receive $1,000 for their selected charity; second will receive $500 and third through fifth place $250
• All 22 winners from the season long Battle are eligible for the $10,000 grand prize. Ten names will be selected during the Final Drawing – 1st –5th name receives $200 betting voucher; 6th name receives $250 betting voucher, 7th name receives $300 betting voucher, 8th name receives $400 voucher, 9th name receives $500. The Final name drawn (10th name) wins the $10,000. Remaining 12 names will receive a $100 betting voucher.

2022 Summer Survival Challenge

The Meadowlands Summer Meet Survival Challenge powered by 123Racing kicks off Friday, May 6, 2022. Cash prizes and World Harness Handicapping Championship seats are up for grabs in this free online competition.

Trackmaster will provide Platinum Past Performances for each night of the contest.  The game covers the Meadowlands’ Championship Meet and concludes on August 6, 2022.

The winner is determined by the highest total bankroll at the end of the Challenge based on a $2 “across the board” wager [win, place and show] on selections for three designated races each program.

The grand prize is $500 & $1,000 2022 WHHC Spot
The second-place prize is $300 & $1,000 2022 WHHC Spot
The third-place prize is $200 & $1,000 2022 WHHC Spot
Most Winners: $200

The free contest is open to legal residents of the United States and Canada 18 years and older, and all selections must be made through the format provided on the Survival Challenge website page.  No selections will be accepted by phone, fax, e-mail or any other means.  Trackmaster Platinum Past performances for the three designated races will be provided through the game board.

The deadline for selections each day is 30 minutes before 6:20 p.m. post time for the first race; post time for Saturday, August 6 is 12 noon. After 30 minutes to post, all selections are final.

Free WHHC Handicapping Contest
Saturday, June 4, 2022

FREE  Handicapping Contest on Saturday, June 4, 2022 – winner receives $1,000 spot in the WHHC Final in 2022

 Contest Details:

The contest is contestants 18+

  • On June 4 players must check-in at the Players Club Desk by 6:20 pm and complete the “official contest” form prior to Race 1.

There is no entry fee and no live money wagered into the pari-mutuel pools.

Each participant makes mythical $2 “across the board” wager [win, place and show] on selections for Meadowlands races 1-10. Contestants must make their mythical selections for races 1-10 prior to Race 1 on the official Contest Entry Form and turn them into the Contest Official.

If horse is scratched participant receives post time favorite.

If Meadowlands cancels due to inclement weather, the contest is cancelled.

The winner is determined by the highest total mythical bankroll at end Meadowlands Race 10.

2022 July $100 WHHC Qualifier
Thursday, July 7, 2022

$2,500 in prize monies & 1 WHHC Seat (based on 50 entrants) – Winner qualifies for WHHC Final on September 10, 2022 @ the Meadowlands Racetrack.

•$100 Total Fee: $50 entry fee is non-refundable and required with entry form. An additional $50 “betting card” purchase is required.
• Entries accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Max 4 entries per person.
• Entrants must bet a minimum of five races from the Meadowlands.
• $10 bet per race.
• Win wagers only.
• One horse per race.
• Contest wagering allowed on Meadowlands races only.
• Contestants keep all pari-mutuel winnings.
• Contestants receive live racing program.

• Walk-ups accepted 5:30 – 6:20 p.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2022. Players may choose to pay the non-refundable entry fee one of two ways: (1) cash or (2) money order/cashier’s check made payable to Meadowlands Racetrack.  Personal checks and credit cards will not be accepted.

• Tournament check-in begins 5:30 p.m., Thursday, July 7 in the Clubhouse Main Entrance Lobby.

World Harness Handicapping Championship
September 10, 2022

The World Harness Handicapping Championship is a one-day tournament [September 10, 2022]. Players that did not earn a seat through a qualifying event can directly buy-in for $1,000.  The $1,000 entry fee includes a $300 bankroll, with the remaining $700 going to the prize pool.  The WHHC contest format requires players to bet 10 races: their choice of seven Meadowlands races, plus three designated mandatory races.  Players keep all pari-mutuel winnings.  Prize payouts are to the Top 10.
