Corntastic Saturday at the Meadowlands Racetrack

The Meadowlands Racetrack’s Championship Meet has just three weekends of racing and promotions remaining. Live racing takes place every Friday and Saturday night, with a 6:20 p.m. post time.

Every live race night, fans can enter Horseplay. Pick up a free horse at the promotions table and throw the horse into the car for a chance to win $100 and an entry into the Friday, August 2^nd drawing for a brand new 2024 Toyota Camry.

Come to the track this Saturday, July 20th for a corntastic time! Plenty of -fresh corn will be available to eat, husk, and carry as guests compete in contests between the races.  Plus, free freshly grilled corn on the cob served with plenty of butter, salt, and pepper will be available at the East Apron grill.

The Corn Carrying Contest (after Race 2) and the Corn Husking Contest (after Race 4) will occur in the Backyard. Winners of each contest will receive a $100 betting voucher. The Corn Eating Contest is scheduled after race 8. Six randomly chosen participants will chow down on as much corn as possible in 3 minutes. The first-place winner receives $500, followed by $250 for second and $100 for third place. Guests can register to participate in the events at https://playmeadowlands.com/event/corntastic/.

The always popular Seafood Festival is scheduled for Saturday, July 27^th.  On the track, the top three-year-olds compete in the eliminations for the Hambletonian and Hambletonian Oaks. There will be a raw bar in the backyard and tons of local food trucks serving some of the best seafood in the Garden State, including fried clams, fish tacos, crab fries, lobster rolls, and much more! The race meet wraps up on Saturday, August 3, with the greatest day in harness racing – $1 million Hambletonian Day.  Over $3.5 million is on the line, including the $500,000 Hambletonian Oaks for filly trotters and $1 million in the Hambletonian for colt/gelding trotters.  Doors open at 10 am, with the first race at noon.  Admission is $5 and includes a commemorative baseball cap. In addition to great harness racing, fans can enjoy carnival rides, games, food trucks, pony rides, live music, and more.
