October Happenings at the Meadowlands Racetrack

Turf racing under the lights continues Friday, October 2, and runs through Friday, October 16. The Monmouth at Meadowlands meet has a 7 pm post time.
This Saturday, October 3, four-time World Series Champion Dwight “Doc” Gooden comes to the track. The evening starts with a Q&A moderated by radio and TV host Marc Malusis. Gooden will provide career highlights with both the Mets and Yankees and take questions from the audience. Following the discussion, he will sign autographs and take photos. This free event runs from 6-9 pm in the 2nd-floor Lounge. Seating is first-come, first-served, with food and beverages available for purchase.
This Saturday is also UFC 332: Silva vs. Wang. The Gallery watch party begins at 8 pm, admission is free, and food and beverages are available for purchase.
Harness racing returns to the Meadowlands racetrack on Saturday, October 17.
The Garden State Cornhole Alliance hosts the 2nd annual Jimmy Hoffa Cornhole Classic on the 17th. To register, visit Scoreholio.
Friday, October 23 is a $1,000 handicapping contest. Once again, there is no entry fee (a $100 live money bankroll is required), and the prize pool, guaranteed at $1,000, will be paid out to the top four finishers. Full details are available here.

Saturday, Oct 31 is also the Kindergarten Finals for 2-year-old trotters and pacers. Post time is 7 p.m., and FS2 will broadcast the finals from 8- 11 p.m.
