Nominating Stallions for Foals of 2025 to Stakes & Early Closers
2024 Stallion Fees on Foals of 2025Sires
In appreciation of the efforts made toward this initiative, the Stallion Restriction Condition (Gural rule) will be waived for those stallions nominated to this plan so that their foals of 2025 may be nominated for Meadowlands Stakes & Early Closers for the life of the horse including the 2028 Meadowlands Pace.
Participation in the Meadowlands Early Closing program for foals of 2025 will be contingent upon the sire having been nominated by payment of 50% of the cost of one 2024 breeding by February 15, 2026.
If a stallion is NOT nominated by the February 15, 2026 payment, the 2025 foals of that sire will be ineligible to race in Meadowlands Stakes & Early Closers for the life of the horse.
Payment
A payment equal to 50% of one 2024 breeding fee (or a minimum of $1,000) will be required on those stallions standing in North America for the 2024 breeding season to make their foals of 2025 eligible to be nominated to Meadowlands Stakes & Early Closers for the life of the horse is due (postmarked by) Ferbuary 15, 2026.
This payment will provide the option for foals of 2025 to make the May 15, 2026 yearling nomination payment for the 2028 Meadowlands Pace along with any future required Meadowlands Stakes & Early Closer Participation payments and subsequently all required nominating and sustaining payments as written in the conditions for the entirety of their racing careers.
All payments are in US dollars or the equivalent.
Fee
There is no fee for stallions standing solely outside North America.
Eligibility
Foals by stallions who are not made eligible to the Meadowlands Early Closer Participation will NOT be eligible for nomination to these races for the entirety of their racing careers and there is no recourse.
