New Jersey Brews Highlight May 16 Meadowlands Beerfest

We are less than two weeks away from the Meadowlands Racetrack’s annual Beerfest, which takes place on Saturday, May 16^th. Doors open for VIP admission at 4:00 pm with General Admission at 5:00 pm, and beer is poured until 9:00 pm. It is an afternoon and evening of great craft beer and horse racing, both live harness racing and the Preakness Stakes.

This year, fest goers will be treated to some outstanding brews from a number of local New Jersey breweries.

New to this year’s festival is Leaning Fathers Brewing of Brick, who will be pouring their Leaning Blonde, Dogs on Duty, a blood orange wheat beer, and their Lean IPA. Asturia Brewing Company out of Hackensack will be serving SK Pils, Baiana, their New England Hazy IPA, Brisa, a smoothie-style sour, and Stotini, a coffee Stout.

MudHen Brewing Company, out of Wildwood, is slated to pour their Mud Light Pilsner, Pale Ale, Holly Beach Wheat, and Wildwood Haze, a New England-style IPA.

Long-time Meadowlands Beer Fest participant 902 Brewing is serving up their Beautiful Game Pilsner, Out Of Office Summer Ale, and their New England IPA, Juicy City.

The ever-popular Promises Raspberry hard seltzer from United Brewing Company is returning, along with United’s Follow The Sun Mexican-style Lager and a special IPA release.

Seven Tribesman, based in Wayne, NJ, will be on-site pouring Maya-Rita, a fruited Sour, Kings Gambit, their imperial IPA, and their thirst-quenching Pines Lake Pils.

Hackettstown gem Czig Meister will be pouring Deep Sea Electric Catfish, Herdsman, Sundial POG and Tradesman.

Hoboken’s own Hoboken Brewing Company, Carton Brewing from the Atlantic Highlands, and Double Tap Brewing of Whippany are all returning to the festival. Fan favorites Bolero Snort, Departed Soles, Montclair Brewery, Bonesaw Brewing, and Ghost Hawk will also pour a variety of brews.

Beers, ciders, hard seltzers and komboocha from Sixty-four breweries will be at the festival.

The Annual Beer Fest will be held in the Backyard and on the East Apron and will open to the public at 4:00 pm for VIP admission.  General Admission begins at 5:00 pm and is available in advance for $45 or at the door for $50.  The VIP ticket is $70 and includes an additional 1 hour of sampling, exclusive VIP Tent beer samplings, and food.  Live harness racing will commence at 6:35 pm.
