Meadowlands Racetrack Serves Up Sweet and Savory Competition at Pie Palooza

Bakers, pie lovers, and competitive eaters are invited to bring their best recipes and biggest appetites to Pie Palooza at the Meadowlands Racetrack on Saturday, November 7.

Admission to Pie Palooza is free, and guests can enjoy a full night of harness racing and pies.

This festive celebration of one of America’s favorite desserts will feature a pie-baking competition across four categories, cash prizes, and an action-packed pie-eating contest.

Amateur and professional bakers alike are encouraged to enter their best creations in one of the following categories:

• Best Savory Pie
• Best Apple Pie
• Best Fruit/Berry Pie
• Best Cream/Custard-Based Pie

A panel of local food influencers and professional food critics will judge entries on flavor, appearance, creativity, and overall presentation.

Cash Prizes Awarded in Each Category

1st Place: $500
2nd Place: $250
3rd Place: $100

In addition to the baking competition, guests can test their speed and appetite in the Pie Eating Contest, where contestants will race to finish as many pies as they can and earn bragging rights and cash prizes as Meadowlands’ Pie Palooza Pie Eating Champion.
