EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ –This Saturday, July 8^th, the annual BBQ Extravaganza returns to the Meadowlands Racetrack.  $2,500 is up for grabs in the Battle with a $500 awarded for best pulled pork, best ribs, best brisket, best chicken and people’s choice.

From 5:00 p.m.-11 p.m. in the Backyard, fans can grab some delicious barbecue and food truck eats from some of the finest local food trucks and restaurants in the area.

Seven contestants have signed up to compete in this year’s BBQ festivities including: Magic Mike’s Smoked Meats, Kimchi Smoke, Michael’s Backyard BBQ, Antojitos De Mi Tierra, Embark Smoked Meats, and Latin Bites.

Additional food and dessert options ranging from empanadas to kettle corn will be provided by Freakin Empanadas, Cat Like Reflexes, Uncle Bob’s Kettle Corn, The Original Delicious Lola Josefa’s, Jerzey Girl Pickles, DAW Concessions, Kosher Pig USA, Eat My Balls, Rods Fish N Chips, and Clyde’s Homemade Italian Ice and Ice Cream.

In addition to the great barbecue and snacks, fans will be treated to exciting horse racing featuring eliminations for the Meadowlands Pace and Graduate finals with first post at 6:20pm
