Busy May Weekend at the Meadowlands Racetrack

Tuesday, May 13, 2025

The Meadowlands Racetrack Championship Meet continues on Friday and Saturday night with a 6:20 pm post time. Friday features an $11,399 Hi-5 carryover in race 14, while the Arthur J. Cutler Memorial for older trotters, sponsored by Allerage Farm, highlights Saturday. Saturday is also the Preakness Simulcast for those looking to get in some Thoroughbred racing action.

The track’s monthly handicapping contest schedule continues on Friday, May 16. There is no entry fee (a $100 live money bankroll is required) for players, and the prize pool, guaranteed at $1,000 and funded by the track, will be paid out to the top four finishers. Full details are available here.

Then, on Saturday, May 17, the track has combined two fan-favorite food truck events—the BBQ Extravaganza and the Best Burger Battle—into one outrageous event: the Battle of the Meats! Full details can be found here.

Chow down on some delicious BBQ and burgers from the best food trucks and restaurants in the area. This pay-as-you-go event takes place from 5 to 11 p.m., with live racing beginning at 6:20 p.m. Fans can also vote for their favorite food truck, enter to win a spot at the judges’ table, and those 21+ can enjoy the Shanky’s Whip Pineapple Trotter cocktail at the Backyard Bar.

Vendors looking to come out on top in this year’s competition include Magic Mike’s Smoked Meats, Kimchi Smoke, Michael’s Backyard BBQ, Antojitos De Mi Tierra, Fire and Coal BBQ, Big John’s Gourmet Burgers, Lots of Meat BBQ, Chef J’s Latin Dragon, Jersey Johnny’s House of Dogs, Why Not Burgerz, Uncle Eddie’s Touch of Sauce, The Original Delicious Lola Josefa’s, Sliderz N Bowlz, and Latin Bites.
