Breeders Crown Charity Challenge Kicks Off

The Breeders Crown Charity Challenge was conceived to create positive relationships with the local community, raise awareness, and fund local charities. This year’s challenge has already raised over $1.5 Million for charity!

Friday, August 30

The Challenge begins with four selected charities getting paired with their teams in a live draw. Draw will take place after Race 2 (approximately 7 p.m.) in the Winner’s Circle.

Charity Double Seater Race

Cheer on the charities in this fun race! A representative from each charity will get paired up with a driver in a race for points. The race order of finish will determine point distribution.

Vote to help your team win!

We encourage fans, charity participants, and everyone in between, to vote each day of the challenge for their favorite team. The Team with the most votes at the end of the Challenge will receive an additional 100 points; 2nd place will receive 75 points; 3rd place will receive 50 points, and 4th place will receive 25 points. Instructions on how to vote will be posted here once polls are opened.

Breeders Crown Charity Challenge Details

• Challenge runs August 30 – October 19
• Teams earn points (detailed below) throughout the challenge
• The team with the most points at the end of the Challenge will receive 40% of the total money donated to their team charity. The other three charities will receive 25%, 17.5% and 17.5% respectively.

• SBH Health System, Bronx, NY
• enCourage Kids, NY
• New Jersey YMCA State Alliance
• Friends of Union County

Challenge Teams

• Four teams will be competing in the challenge.
• Each team will consist of a charity paired with an influencer, driver, and trainer.
• Influence, driver, and trainer teams will be drawn live on Friday, August 2
• Charities will be paired with a team Friday, August 30 Charity Team Draw Night at the Races. Draw will take place after Race 2 (approximately 7 p.m.) in the Winner’s Circle.

 

Other Ways Teams Earn Points

• • August 30—October 19 Driver and Trainer team performance on the Grand Circuit. Every time they are in a major stakes race, they earn points that are calculated.
  • August 30 Charity Team Draw Night at the Races. The Challenge kicks off with the charities being paired with their teams! Charities are encouraged to come out in person for a fun night.
  • August 30 Charity Team Draw Night Double Seater Race. One charity member will compete with their team driver in an actual horse race and the race order of finish will determine point distribution.
  • August 31 Charity Team Open House 9am – 12 Noon. Charities are encouraged to invite friends, family and orgnization employees and volunteers for a morning at the track. Brunch will be served along with fun activities for kids.
  • October 18 & 19 Influencer Handicapping Contest. Team influencers compete to amass the most money over two race cards.
    The final Challenge standings will be tallied after the final race on Saturday, October 19.
