Ramping up his Pace prep this week by heading to Yonkers for The Messenger, where he will depart from post 3 in Elimination 2 [Race 9] Friday night. Pelling: “Everything seems OK. He’s doing better all the time. I’m not too worried about him getting around a half-mile track.”:

Breeding: Captaintreacherous-History Repeats

Last Race: 6/8/2022 – Phl – Pa Sire Stakes – 3rd (1:50.2)

2
Beach Glass
($239,645 – 1:51)
Y. Gingras, B. MacGrath
Schooner II Stable
Things went well at Mohawk, where Beach Glass finished second to Pace ineligible Pebble Beach. MacGrath: “Yannick drove him perfect and the horse came out of the race perfect. I probably won’t do much with him over the next two weeks. I might qualify him at Mohawk. I’m not looking for a race necessarily. I want this horse to last all season.”

Breeding: Somebeachsomewhere-Im With Her

Last Race: 6/18/2022 – Wbsb – N.A. Cup Final – 2nd (1:50.3)

3
Night Hawk
($159,706 – 1:48.4)
D. Miller, B. Brown
Acadia Farms Inc., Joe Sbrocco,
In The Gym Partners,
Leeman Lombardo Stable
Not a great night at Mohawk for Night Hawk. Brown: “The race didn’t work out for us. We didn’t get much of a chance. We were too far back and the pace was too slow. We will not race until The Pace. I don’t expect to do much until then. maybe we’ll qualify.”

Breeding: Betting Line-Night Music

Last Race: 6/18/2022 – Wbsb – N.A. Cup Final – 5th (1:51)

($165,358 – 1:50.2)
A. McCarthy, T. Alagna
Country Club Acres Inc.,
Joe Sbrocco, Don Latore,
Alagna And Fodera Racing
Came calling at three-quarters, but proved no match for Pebble Beach at Mohawk, finishing sixth. Alagna: “I was happy with the way my colt raced. It’s very tough from the inside posts at Mohawk. You waste a lot of gas [trying to get good position]. For now, he’ll take the week off and we’ll look for an overnight race before The Pace.”

Breeding: Captaintreacherous-Flyme To The Moon

Last Race: 6/18/2022 – Wbsb – N.A. Cup  Final – 6th (1:51)

5
Early Action
($446,411 – 1:49.4)
D. Miller, J. Holloway
Val D’Or Farms, Ted Gewertz
In an effort to re-energize his campaign, Holloway opted to go to Vernon, where Early Action was third in sire stakes. Holloway: “He raced poorly, but I think we still have a shot in The Pace.” Early Action is scheduled to qualify Saturday at The Meadowlands.

Back on his road to The Pace. His qualifier the other day was his first charted line in a month, and he’s in to go at Mohawk Saturday night in the second race. Moore: “I entered him at Mohawk after qualifying [Tuesday]. I thought I’d need two weeks to prepare for The Pace. Everything appears to be in order.”

D. Dunn, N. Takter
Chuck Pompey, Edwin J. Gold,

On his way to the Messenger, where he’ll take on Hammering Hank in Elim 2 from post 5. Takter: “I’m actually quite happy with him. I think he’s in pretty good shape. Whoever has a good day that day [in The Pace] will win it. As for the Messenger, I think he should be good on a half-mile track.”

Breeding: Sweet Lou-Economy Terror

Last Race: 6/11/2022 – Wbsb – N.A. Cup Elimination – 6th (1:50.4)

8
Caviart Camden
($101,431 – 1:48.3)
A. McCarthy, T. Alagna
Caviart Farms
Went a rail trip, finished fourth in a sire stakes dash, one week after failing to make the N.A. Cup Final. Where is he at? Alagna: “It was very windy [at Vernon], so the times of the races were deceiving. We have been working on his steering issue. We are looking for a start before The Meadowlands Pace.”

Breeding: Huntsville-Caviart Christa

Last Race: 6/19/2022 – VD – New York Sire Stakes – 4th (1:53)

9
Fourever Boy
($254,445 – 1:51.1)
M. Wilder, T. Twaddle
Micki Rae Stables LLC,
Timothy P. Twaddle
Failed to get a check in the N.A. Cup, but you won’t hear the trainer complain. He was in the hunt late in the mile. Twaddle: “It was exciting. My heart was thumping. He did what he could and it was just a little bit short [of getting a check]. Mike couldn’t have driven him any better. My horse won’t race again until The Pace elims.”

Breeding: Sweet Lou-Macharoundtheclock

Last Race: 6/18/2022 – Wbsb – N.A. Cup Final – 7th (1:51)

10
Mad Max Hanover
($178,131 – 1:50.3)
T. Tetrick, J. Leamon
Marvin J. Rounick
A ninth-place finish in the N.A. Cup came as the result of some bad circumstances, according to the trainer. Leamon: “Not enough pace up front from the 10 hole. A recipe for disaster. He’s fine. The horse is not in this weekend. His next race will be the Pace elims. Just have to get him ready for it.”

Breeding: Always B Miki-Mayhem Seelster

Last Race: 6/18/2022 – Wbsb – N.A. Cup Final – 9th (1:51.2)
