2022 Meadowlands Pace Winterbook Top 10

1-Early Action – Gelding from the first crop of Huntsville posted a six-race winning streak, including back-to-back Grand Circuit stakes at The Red Mile, took a mark of 1:49.4, and capped his season with a post nine 1:50 upset in the Governor’s Cup with Brian Sears driving for trainer Joe Holloway

2-Monte Miki – Dan Patch Award winning son of Always B Miki, won six of seven starts, overcame post 11 to upset the Metro, took a mark of 1:50.4 in his Breeders Crown elimination, held on by a nose in that final for Scott Zeron and trainer Mark Evers

3-Hammering Hank – Captaintreacherous gelding won his first six career starts and dominated the Kindergarten Classic Final in 1:51.1, trained by Brett Pelling and driven by Dexter Dunn

4-Six Feet Apart – Late-blooming son of Sweet Lou won five of nine starts, including a Breeders Crown elimination upset in 1:50.2 with Dave Miller driving for trainer Brian Brown

5-Beach Glass – Lightly-raced colt made only five starts, won his first three impressively at Mohawk, heralded as the next great one from the last crop of Somebeachsomewhere, for the same combo of Paul MacDonell and trainer Brent MacGrath, just missed to Six Feet Apart in his Breeders Crown elimination

6-FulFullnmydestiny – Michigan bred and Indiana sired gelding by Tellitlikeitis, won five in a row at Hoosier Park, including a 1:50.2 in the Elevation, and set a track record of 1:49.2 for James Yoder

 

7-I Did It Myway – Son of 2013 Pace champ Captaintreacherous won his first five starts and took a mark of 1:50.3 in the Kentucky Championship Series for Todd McCarthy and trainer Tony Alagna

8-Market Based – Here’s another son of Sweet Lou whose major highlight came winning the Matron Stake in 1:50.4, Dexter Dunn drove for 2020 Pace winning trainer Nancy Takter

9- Son of Sweet Lou was just one for 13, but consistently knocking on the door, second to Market Based in the Matron and fourth from post eight in the Governor’s Cup, Mike Wilder drove for trainer Tim Twaddle

10-Caviart Camden – From the first crop of Huntsville, set a world record of 1:48.3 in the Kentucky Championship Series at The Red Mile with Yannick Gingras driving for trainer Tony Alagna
