1 CATCH THE GAME Had to need that first start up at Tioga, but I suspect he's not ready to go a huge mile yet. Maybe a little bit behind the eight-ball with these types of stakes-quality rivals. His pari-mutuel partner will make up for it though! Watch for steady improvement.
1A SOUTHWIND HYDRO Awfully impressive in that career debut and despite drifting a path greenly, he appeared to have plenty left! Takes the appropriate step up the ladder, but I don't see any other that are ready to trot in 54. Post seven will see Yannick floating him out to front.
2 ETERNAL PATROL Not much last year at two, and not much on view from two starts as a sophomore. Have to pass for now.
3 DI OGGI Hasn't won a race yet, but is clearly a faster version so far at three. Not bad for just a $7K yearling purchase. IF he were to carry that speed a little further on the mile track, he might have a chance to hit the ticket. Timmy T was listed, but stayed loyal to barn of #4.
4 ROSESAREEXPLOSIVE Not really sure what to expect here. Added Lasix for most recent qualifier and promptly broke. That's never a good thing. It's a filly in against mostly colts. Waiting on a big wakeup call here, and let's look for any equipment changes. Something.
5 WHAT A CANTAB Now in the Svanstedt barn for the sophomore campaign, and with him in Sweden for this weekend's Elitlopp, Andy Mac gets the call. Didn't show a whole lot in the qualifier here and then broke from the rail at Meadows. A work in progress.
6 NORTHERN STARLIGHT Other filly was stuck in an impossible spot last week, but there were tons of equipment changes and she DID stay trotting. This is more like where she belongs. I can make a case for further improvement, since Dave Miller opted here.
7 MADISON MUSCLE He's got speed, no doubt about that, but we can easily question the mile track stamina level right now. The hopples went back on for last start, but boy did he stop! Corey has to find a way to get him to relax early. That would help a lot. Not easy to do.
8 ETHANOL Third filly in the field, and so far, Swick trained horses have suffered the post position blues. Dave Miller opted to #6. It doesn't look like she traveled too well up from Florida. Might need an "acclimating" mile here too! Trainer: Hasn't been as sharp as in Fla. Hope for better.

1 FIREFOX HANOVER Gets stuck in same division as #6 again. Oh well! At least he's got the rail to aid that early speed. Could put him in a prime position to follow along in ideal spot and let's see if there's a bit more stamina coming. I can make a positive case with Yannick.
2 DEO GALILEO Did the "dirty work" last week, setting things up perfectly for the favorite. I still don't think he's quite in that class yet, but I loved the way he dug in late. Surely needed that race after shipping in, could be bit stronger. Trainer: Raced big last week! Was right there.
3 FOUNDMYTREASURE Was allowed to cruise along at very comfortable fractions, but still got run over late. Just not in the class of these right now, and I suspect Jimmy will opt to change up the strategy and follow this week. That could earn him a check.
4 INDIAN RIVER ACE Not a real big horse, so I can see why it's taken him a while to make it to the races. Had a chance to kick in and offer a bit more stretch punch in round one, but did not have it. Looks like a longshot, until he finds the right class level against lesser.
5 PRAIRIE MCDREAMY Unlike #4, this fella DID kick in with something late! However, he lagged badly early. Still learning "how to race" as often happens with inexperienced horses. That's okay. Coming along nicely and improving each time. Gets a bit closer this week.
6 EVERY WAY OUT I'm sure connections were hoping for a nice, easy trip off a helmet in leg one and that's exactly what they got! Soon as Timmy T started him up, he just exploded. Probably a little bit different tonight in this post. I expect to see more early zip. Controls it. Trainer: Very happy with him. First start, and he had a good week. Should be just as good as the field.
3 Third Race Entries
Picks: 6-5-4-2
H Horse Comment
1 HALLANET Taking a shot on the mile track for Matty Z, and the gelding doesn't show a lot of experience here. Biggest asset is the rail, where he does have some speed. Tows along after that and we'll see if he's got anything in the stretch. Not completely out of it.
2 SIM BROWN 173 lifetime starts, so there has to be some big track races in there somewhere. Connections have had lot of success here this year, so Sim demands an extra look, if the price is right. Also packs early zip, but may have trouble stepping around #1.
3 WINWOOD SCOUT Lasted by an "eyelash" here two weeks ago. Was able to control the pace to his own liking that night. Looking at this field, I see many other speed types directly inside of him. That will make it tougher, and I suspect the price won't be very large.
4 RIDGEWAY SPRINGS Appeared way overmatched upon arrival here, and did actually take a shot and tip off the pylons. This is a much more manageable spot, and Marohn has three wins here this year. Could be the right "price play" in wide open race. Will be closing.
5 PANANA REPUBLIC Scooted over to Yonkers in a much tougher spot and promptly broke. I can forgive that. Was launching a big move here on April 28 when she broke. I suspect "patience" may be needed and Hannah may need that to get her grinding into the race late.
6 EXPLOSIVE MAN 5YO making first start of year tonight, and off a slowish kind of qualifier over at Pocono. I wish it had been here. With that said, classy gelding has won here before and "likes" to win based on record. Trainer: Off six months, first start off qua. Prob needs 1 or 2.
7 KEENAN Also overmatched in most recent try, but a solid threat against these before that for Johnny C. From this post, with all the inside speedsters, I suspect he'll wait for the flow. Will be finishing fast if the fractions are solid. Trainer: Having good wk, hoping for good trip.
8 REAL DJ HANOVER Gave it a very aggressive try last week, popping pocket, and digging in gamely. Beat me out of the exacta for that matter! Not exactly "rewarded" with this post slot. I'm going to take a shot and stand against, hoping too far back to do any damage.
9 KEYSTONE THOMAS The final piece of the potential speed puzzle for Bob H. IF he fires out, I expect a little "mayhem" to develop and set things up for the closers. IF he finds a tuck, then his check chances go way up! Has the stamina to stick around till the end.

1 LET HER ROCK Nice drive by Jimmy two weeks ago. Fired out and ended up with the perfect pocket trip behind #7. That earned him a solid second. I can't guarantee it will work out that way again, but I am sure that's the plan!! Trainer: Missed a week, this may be a tough class, but she had good week and always tries her best.
2 SUPER SOPH Squeezes in for the condition tonight, despite beating an "Open" type field up at Tioga. Team Buter lives by the "have bike, will travel" strategy and they found a nice spot up there. Certainly fits this spot too! Hard to leave out at any square price. Usable.
3 SOFT IDEA Should benefit from a "needed" race two weeks ago. The extra week off might help too! This is the level where she belongs right now, needs a touch more. TT opt off. Trainer: Finally went a good race, but has been working through some issues and hopefully back on track.
4 ACEFOURTYFOUR ALEX Looks like she had things her own way on the lead at Yonkers and still couldn't hold on. Based on her lifetime mark, I will suspect that she hasn't won on a big track before. Wasn't Tetrick's pick tonight and that worries me too! I'll watch one here.
5 CHEYENNE ROBIN Steadily working her way down the class ladder and eventually she will wake back up. I can't guarantee that tonight is the night, but I wouldn't look the other way if price offered value. Trainer: Freshened her up. Was locked in at YR. Always races well at Med.
6 ROCK ME BABY A sharp brush and crush in the comebacker. We can always forgive an eight-hole miscue at Yonkers. Barn decides to put her on the big track now and they've found the perfect spot for the stakes winner. By all rights, she's supposed to beat these as Tim's choice. Trainer: Very nice mare, will be tough to beat in here..
7 KEYSTONE I WISH What a tough and game mare this is! You have to give her credit for last two wins. She just keeps digging in and fighting! Corey fits her perfectly, but I just have a feeling she will face more early pressure tonight. Not likely to cruise around oval like last time.

1 ICE ATTRACTION Was stalking in a perfect spot leg one when she broke for no apparent reason. Svanstedt over in Sweden for the Elitlopp this weekend, so good chance for A Mac to pick up nice check here. Expect that speed and maybe no breaks this time!
2 ROMANCING RACHEL Was never a real threat to a well-rated winner in round one. Faces that same foe again, plus some inside speed pressure. I feel she's in line for a very similar ground-saving journey, but I need to see more late before I can endorse.
3 CAMERON HILL Did she need that first trip around the track to acclimate? Yes. Will she be better tonight for Bax? Yes. Will it be enough to threaten Glitzey Gal? That's the question I can't answer! The price will probably be right, if you want to take a shot. I will, if value!
4 FEED YOUR HEAD Did a very nice job of towing along behind the well-rated Gal last time and she did finish up with solid trot once out of the pocket box. Have to believe Sears will be aggressive, hoping to sit that trip again. It can easily happen if #1 allows it. Hard to ignore.
5 DREAM BABY DREAM I implied and foreshadowed that she would be better last week and she certainly was! Equipment changes, and a nice rail ride made that happen. With a midpack post tonight, things will clearly be different. That, plus the 56-1 price is gone. Trainer: Trained good on Wed. Much better behaved last week. Expect the same.
6 EVELYN Also got a rail ride in a much needed first start back of the year. No problem. She trotted along okay and didn't lose any ground, coming home in a solid 27.1 That's a good step in the right direction and she'll be coming from behind again. Needs a live flow.
7 MYAMMIE DRAMA Found the stakes company and presence of champion Ariana G a little too much last time. I can easily understand that. Timmy took care of her and just let her trot on own late. Tonight's problem is the post. I don't see her passing them all. Tough spot.
8 GLITZEY GAL How strong was she in round one? That was powerhouse sprint home and Dave barely started her up. Getting better with each and every appearance. Already proven she can overcome a bad post. Looks like fave to me. Trainer: Racing good. Prepping for final next wk.
9 SOUTHWIND PRIUS Had every chance last time, since Andy put her in the perfect spot, but she simply got tired trying to keep up late. That's been her problem so far. A clear lack of mile track stamina and punch. Now, from the outside post, I rate her up against it.

1 KING ON THE HILL If my proof page is right, the hopples are going back on tonight. Apparently he needs them! Jimmy tipped him off the cones top stretch last time and he broke as soon as asked. I see a new driver aboard tonight. Let's expect more, stay trotting!
2 WHAT THE HILL What a powerhouse performance that was in leg one! A real sparkler! Also proved that he could do it on the lead and finished up under wraps and on own. I would have a very tough time recommending that he can be beat in here. Just too much horse!
3 SOUTHWIND WOODY Shows two stakes-level starts and now two recent breaks. That's never a good thing. I will pass for now.
4 DEACON TONY Yannick gave him every chance to step up and prove a legitimate stakes-quality trotter. Yes, he was used hard, but I expected to see a little more fight in the lane. Tony didn't have it. Let's look for a different kind of strategy here. Maybe it will work.
5 MUSCLE HIGH Also wasn't exactly exploding come stretch time of his first stakes start. I thought he was coming along nicely prior to that. Not much in the way of early speed, so he's at mercy of pace and trip again. Would love to follow either #2 or #4. Trainer: Just even last week.
6 EL SENOR DEO Just not good enough for these right now. Sometimes, it's as simple as that. A definite longshot.
7 SIGNAL HILL Showed some promise last year at two on the Grand Circuit at Lexington. Hasn't quite come back as strong just yet for Tony A. Sometimes, it takes a while. I'm willing to wait. Trainer: Too far back in a needed start. Big field, but should improve w/start under belt.
8 NEW JERSEY VIKING Not bad last week in leg one, just trying to keep up behind The Hill. That was only his first start back, and I fully expect him to improve with each and every race. Tonight's problem for A Mac is the post. Will have to work his way into race somehow for piece.
9 SOUTHWIND COBRA Did a fairly good job of towing along and keeping up behind The Hill in round one. We know he's got speed and we all expect him to fire out. Any similar kind of smooth journey gives him board chances again. I doubt he can beat #2, however.
10 FLY ON Put the hopples back on last time and broke again. Just not sharp now and obviously, the post is a killer too! Trainer: 10 hole a challenge and needs to mind his manners.
11 IMPACTER Tried Dave Miller last week and broke early, just trying to keep up. Second tier post here. Sits in, saves, IF he stays trotting.

1 WINTER HARBOR First qualifier was without hopples and my impression was that he was a little hot on the bit. Second qualifier was with hopples and I still thought same thing. Let's call this guy a "work in progress" for Tony. Trainer: 2 good qua and few minor adjustments after last one should set him up for good start tonight.
2 GOLD MEDAL SWAN Making just second start for Mark Silva, so let's call the Yonkers race a "get to know him" kind of mile. This is still no easy spot, but the gelding clearly likes a bigger track. Silva listed Dave Miller, who opted for #5, so he will drive himself. Let's watch one.
3 DON DORADO Surprised me with a sharp effort behind impressive colt last week. That was nice drive to put him in prime position, and he battled willingly to earn the second spot. With that said, it's another bump up in class. Must find all of his back class to do it again.
4 DOWNUNDERMATTER Wasn't able to take advantage of the much easier spots last pair, so that worries me. Does get a better post to start from, so should be in prime stalking position. Can he trot in 53? That seems to be the question. Must find just a bit more when it counts.
5 SWEET JUSTICE I'm not really sure what happened last time. He just stopped. Yes, it was a tougher field, but clearly something wasn't right. Any repeat of the prior effort stamps him a contender against these. Trainer: In tough last week. Hoping this group is friendlier.
6 OOH RAH Barn doesn't usually bring them here, unless then can do! Uncorked some very nice efforts over at Pocono and has blossomed into a very talented trotter, just like his dam used to be. She loved it here, so I suspect this gelding will too! Very usable with Corey aboard.
7 UNCLE HANOVER On the slow and steady path back to the races as a five-year-old. I didn't see enough in the qua. Pass for now.
8 STONEBRIDGE COMBAT Have to be very careful here, folks. Shows multiple breaks before the start and was pretty hot on the bit in that follow-up qualifier. Didn't get challenged that morning, but will get the test here. Trainer: Obviously some gate issues out of blue. Skedaddle.
9 STARSABOVEALLERAGE Super trip and drive two back for the upset, and then things didn't go quite his way behind much better. The post is an absolute killer for tonight, but if #8 miscues, don't be shocked if Jimmy fires out. It's the only way into this one.

1 CALL ME CAPONE Free-legged filly didn't make a good first impression by breaking on debut here. With that said, not sure I could go back to the well until I see a stronger start. Maybe she'll stay pacing tonight. Maybe she won't. Your call?
2 STRONGRTHANDSTORM Just not good enough for these right now. Have to rate her a big longshot, even with Andy back.
3 ARE YOU TERRY Did a decent job to "get the nickel" last week and that shows promise. clearly she still has something to prove against stakes foes like this, but Jimmy will try to save ground again and shake loose with a bit more. A possibility.
4 LIVINGINTHEDREAM Like #1, things did NOT get off to a good start here, but Marcus had lot of positive things to say about this filly. Because of that, I am willing to give a few more chances. Better post here, so she can ease out and stay close. Chances go way up here.
5 RINGING OFTHE BELL Yannick opted here over #10, but that's for Burke. Okay. Filly tried to take a first over run at Jasmine last week and that wasn't going to work. Still, it was a much more positive effort than the prior two. Have to expect that she's coming around now.
6 IT'S OK TO DREAM Off the long layoff, and two VERY slow qualifiers, is she really going to be ready tonight? I don't think so. Pass.
7 DESIGNATED DRINKER Have to admit, I was very disappointed by her effort last week. Saved ground and came up completely empty. She is a MUCH better filly than that. Demand fair value if you think she'll be ready tonight. It's a LONG drive from Vernon for Lems. Finds more.
8 COLORFUL JASMINE Pretty much cruised around the oval last week to easily dominate round one. This bunch might have a few more talented foes and the post will make things tougher. Still a likely very short price, but very, very hard to go against. A fast filly!
9 MISQUED Took ALL kinds of betting action last week and did race well with a fair finishing kick. With that said, she should be a little stronger tonight, but from a horrible post. Will she fire out to get involved? I'm not so sure about that, so demand a price if you fancy.
10 WONDERFUL WORLD This lass did fire out for Yannick last week and it worked to perfection. Towed along nicely behind Jasmine, but Yannick did opt off here, and post 10 is still post 10. Will need all of that speed and more to get close again. Not 46-1 this time either.
9 Ninth Race Entries

H Horse Comment
1 HYWAY MARCUS Gets the very tepid call as favorite, because he raced better than most of these last time. The inside post is key, giving Marohn some options. If he comes up good again, he can certainly win, but a smoother journey will be required.
2 V FOR VICTORY Down from the Spa after a case of the "bad post blues." It's never easy to overcome a bad post on a half mile track like Saratoga. The switch to Corey is an attractive proposition in a race where you have to invent somebody to like. Maybe this one?
3 HERE COMES NUMBERS I don't really know what to tell you here, except that it's Scotty Z taking over. Sure looks like he has a touch of back class and this is a field that's begging to be beaten. It's a better post and horse has won here before. That's best case I can make.
4 SOBORO HANOVER Went 57 in a qualifier here last month. Can he go faster than that tonight for Irish Joe? If you think so, then go ahead and use. Certainly didn't show much at Freehold or Philly. A longshot in current form. Let's see if he can hack it here.
5 WHATNBLAZES Yannick had an option and chose this guy over #6, so what am I missing? Never really fired at odds of 81-1 against similar in last. Can he really improve enough to threaten these? With that 0-32 record over two years sticking out, I will take a shot and say no.
6 HES AN AMERICAN Let's see. Hit the board against better with Yannick driving. Tonight, gelding is dropping in class and he's opted off. That has to be a huge negative sign, right? With that said, he still trotted faster than any of these in last race. Trainer: Class drop should help.
7 MUSCULARITY Too many breaks on view. On the comeback trail, but clearly not there yet for Team Vandervort.
8 POP I Just hasn't come back sharp enough yet to warrant a play. Eight-time winner last year and nothing yet this year. Took tote action with Tetrick on May 5th and broke. Three weeks off since. Andy will take a shot. Trainer: Really nice horse, hasn't found stride yet this yr. Changed a few things. Optimistic.
9 PLAYBOY RUSTY Also MIA for a three-week span. That's not a good thing. Recent form is poor. The outside post is a killer. I would have a hard time making up a case to endorse. Trainer: Made a shoeing change. Should be okay, if he minds his manners.
10 Tenth Race Entries
Picks: 5-6-3-1
H Horse Comment
1 BEAVERCREEK ANNIE Was a little bit better in second Med try, grinding it out and holding fairly well. Due to that, she gets tabbed as the favorite, despite 0-40 record over last two years. Dave Miller is back again and it will take all of his talents to get a win picture.
2 DREAM BALL When last seen here against a much better field, she did pace in 53. Decent at Yonkers and then flat at Pocono. Inconsistent form makes her hard to handicap tonight, but Andy Miller fans might hop on board. Nothing less than an A effort will get it done.
3 MOJARRA HANOVER Excellent try last week, beaten a dirty nose. Barn won with Victorydaze Wilwin last week, so Martin is on a roll! This veteran war mare has won here before. Would be just about impossible to leave off your tickets. Won't be 15-1 this week, though.
4 THAT GIRL OF MINE Remember that Bettor Chill Out was about 1-5 in winning that last race. This mare was finishing well that night and has clearly turned her form around. I could easily make a case to like her tonight with Marcus picking up assignment. Might be best option.
5 STEUBEN CINDY A simple question of ":is she fast enough" for the mile track? I'm going to say no and pass in here. Must prove it.
6 MACJESTIC TODDY N Well-traveled of late, that's for sure! Monti, Pocono, Philly Freehold and now here. Hit the board a couple of times in those pursuits, so maybe she can hit the board here. Adds Corey and will be waiting for the flow. If it's live, she will rally, hit ticket.
7 ALGEBRA Picking up checks is better than sitting on the bench for the Joe B owned 12YO. Yannick will take a turn tonight, and probably drive her like he owns her. Not much early speed on view, so expect the trip from back. Any hot pace would be greatly appreciated late.
8 AMERICAN HILL Like #5, is she fast enough to go on a mile track? From this post, in a field full of other closers, I'm going to pass and take the wait and see approach. Should be big longshot from eight hole.
9 LITTLE MISS MARIE At least Marie can leave the gate, as she did in both tries here. Hit the board with a decent try two back and if she makes top, or catches any hole early, her chances go way up. A "live" longshot if you think she can work out any smooth trip.
