1 HAMMER CREEK Can’t fault this guy for consistency right now. Every recent start a solid one! Moves inside a few slots with the big favorite stuck outside, so Vinny will try to get the jump on that foe. It just might work tonight!
1A BOLD GODDESS Had the trip over the track and didn’t make much of an impact. Have to prefer partner for now.
2 AB’S ROYAL PUNKIN Uncorked one big rush after the leader last week, and then suddenly got rough and drifted right out of the race. Not sure what’s going on with this lass right now, but it’s not good. Needs to step up her game.
3 DOVER DONY Also figures to benefit from the race over the track and it was a sneaky good one too! IF you think this guy can get the jump on the fave, then go ahead and bet. JD will have him in the mix a LOT earlier this week.
4 DRUM HANOVER Put the hopples on for latest qualifier and still didn’t go fast enough. Still a longshot.
5 DANCE TO FAME Invades from Ohio and into new barn. That’s a pretty solid mile at Miami Valley, and off a layoff! This mare likely has some talent, but I’d like to see one here first. Hoping that she needs a race to acclimate.
6 P L LOUIGI Did not make a good impression with that first try here resulting in a break. Have to pass off that.
7 HAVEONEFORME She showed up sharp and ready for her racing debut! Measured off the leader with a confident surge. But, she does not look like a quick starter just yet, so this post might test her out. Likely very short price too!
8 ERIN ISLE I liked what I saw from her last time. Seems to be heading in the right direction, but it will take a slightly softer spot, AND a better post before she gets lucky here. Have to be patient and wait.

1 ARRAKIS I’m still impressed at how good this guy is right now! Another solid mile last week and some traffic issues too! That was also a tougher spot, so this slight drop should help. Has the rail again, so protects inside early.
2 COASTAL REGION Looking very much like a “work in progress” for Team Bongiorno. The hopples went on recently and he has stayed trotting. Now, we have to work on the speed. Haven’t seen enough of that yet.
3 FIJI Iron tough campaigner is back off a bit of a break. Will benefit from that. But, not tonight! Wait for a class drop.
4 IN SECRET Couldn’t possibly have looked any better off the short layoff. Controlled that race easily as part of another BIG night for the hot driver/trainer combo. Steps up the notch, but has the back class to handle it. Tough to beat!
5 ZLATAN Quietly had a very good season last year, with eight wins. He’s a top level trotter that can do at this level when he gets the right kind of trip. Drew outside the speedy #4, so I am wondering what Vinny will do. Sends?
6 CHROMEO After that superb win four weeks ago, gelding regressed into a miscue! Back to the old bad habits. Note that he took an extra couple weeks off. That may not be a good sign. Needs to bounce back in a big way tonight.
7 SIGNAL HILL Uncorked a pretty sharp attack last week, but was never getting by Two Am. So, with that said, trainer takes over the lines again. Expecting an off-the-pace kind of trip tonight. He can pick off a few late for minor share.
8 OPULENT YANKEE Was perfectly positioned in behind #4 last week and came up surprisingly empty! That’s two straight starts with no stretch kick at all. That’s not good. Gets bad post again and is forced UP the class ladder.
9 PRESIDENT ZETTE Looking like a huge longshot from an impossible post. Have to prefer others for now.
10 BROADWAY’ PROMISE Currently suffering a case of the bad post blues. That’s not fair. But, on the plus side, a big Welcome Back to Andy McCarthy! This post 10 start will get him used to sitting in the sulky seat again.
3 Third Race Entries

1 BACKSEAT TERROR Definitely heading in the right direction, folks! That was pretty good try against #10 last time at huge odds. The odds will go down a bit tonight and new driver aboard. Fires out to protect and then sits.
2 TRIPLE DIP Makes racing debut tonight and I don’t think she’s quite ready to handle this. Give a start or two.
3 LULU DE VIE Slowly working her way back into shape. Recently added Lasix. Wasn’t bad last time, sitting in and saving ground. Flashed a nice turn of speed. I don’t think she can win, but she can sneak into the gimmicks.
4 SWEET MOVES Perfect trip win down at Freehold. Takes the big step up to big track and must go much faster.
5 HACK ATTACK Didn’t show much in that one try here. Went back to Freehold and merely kept up. A longshot.
6 WELL SAID MARIA These guys won every race here the last two weekends, so no reason to think Maria won’t be ready! She was solid in the qualifier, fighting off a classy foe. Has post and speed edge on the outer contenders.
7 BYE HANOVER Had a sneaky-good qualifier for new barn. Was a very good two-year-old, but something must have went wrong last season. So, onto the comeback trail and she will eventually win one of these. Expect it.
8 YOU SHOULD BE HERE I thought that was too tough a spot last week and she was raced accordingly. But, she did finish up with a strong kick. That’s better step in the right direction. Back in where she belongs now. Gives #6 a test?
9 SO LONG DARLING Lightly stakes-placed last year at three. Now four, she has to start back somewhere and this is pretty difficult spot in the bad post. I fully expect her to “need” one and tour the oval tonight. Wait for later on.
10 PARKIN IN HEAVEN Unleashed a pretty good kick last time we saw her here. Just toss that last race, as it wasn’t the right spot for her. She’s the key to this race, because she has zero early speed. How’s she going to get close enough?

1 BELL A CHICK Decided to kick back in with one of his good efforts last week. You just never know what you’re going to get from him, so I shall simply wish you good luck guessing. Will he trot? Or not?
2 WICKED NICK Barn surprised us with one last week, so always consider that going forward. Mixed feelings about this one, however. Off the sick scratch. On the plus side is the post relief. If he just sits and saves ground, will keep up.
3 MONTALBANO BI Every time the Bi leaves the gate, or gets used early, he always tires. I know he was the favorite last time, so Marcus tried something different. Now, he will go back to closing mode. It just might work, IF he trots.
4 JUSTCALLMERONALD Been picking up checks, so that’s not a bad thing. Moves back out a few slots to make the journey different tonight. I suspect he’ll be in stalking mode for the Double D. Smooth trip gives him chance.
5 ILLINIMIGHT Never really hit a high gear when hiked up in price. Now in for $12.5, and an ideal post drawn. It takes this guy a little while to hit his stride, so Andy will be hoping for some mayhem up front. Then, he can rally.
6 DOC The Doc appears to be overmatched in this spot. Off the layoff, he’ll be on to softer spots later.
7 IRON DOME The Dome didn’t make it to the track last week for his new barn. Hopefully, he’ll get here tonight. Anxious to see what new trainer can do with him. And not sure what to expect.
8 CELEBRITY LOVER Got a little time off for Team Buter. They’re very good at giving their horses a rest at times. They all need it. This is classy little lower-level trotter. He’s probably going to need this, but will threaten these very soon.
9 MUZZY’S MUSCLES Just 1-31 last year, so that sticks out in a bad way. Gets hammered with a brutal post and wasn’t Yannick’s choice, as expected. Have to watch one here, just to see if he’s a real big track horse.
10 TECH TITAN Gets slammed with the bad post again, but look who’s back in the seat? The guy that couldn’t lose last weekend. I do HATE the post, but know that somehow, someway, YG will get him close enough to launch a bid.
5 Fifth Race Entries
Picks: 4-5-6-2
H Horse Comment
1 FOUR STACES Couldn’t possibly have looked any worse last week when claimed. That’s the bad news, especially if you bet on him. The good news is, that he’s right back in the box and Yannick had options and chose him. Good sign?
2 WESTERN REDHOT Probably needed that last one, after missing a couple of weeks. I still remember the perfect trip Mitch put on him three back. That’s the blueprint for success in here. Patient trip and big late kick. A maybe.
3 ROCKAHOLIC Doesn’t win all that often. Has the look of a longshot in here. Would need to get very lucky.
4 MASTER OF PUPPETS What a perfect drive that was from Corey last week. Horse paid a nice price too! The Captain’s not here tonight, so new pilot aboard and he knows how to get one home too! Very usable again if price is right.
5 WALTZACROSSTHEWIRE Marcus had a choice and opted for this guy again, over #10. Horse never really got rolling in this race last week, so this slightly better post may help. Has option of changing tactics too! He can leave.
6 MAGNUM MIKE Paid off nicely on the ol class drop and pop! Nick hikes the pricetag one notch up tonight and they move out a few slots. This race appears to have a lot of closers in it. Andy might see that, and move a bit earlier now.
7 SHARKY’S WAY Sharky seems to have rounded into better form over the past few starts, but he’s facing really tough task tonight. Drew outside. I don’t know if he can leave. But if not, he will probably be too far back to threaten.
8 ADMIRAL The Admiral did good job of ground saving last time. That was from rail, however. Now post eight.
9 MCCITO Both A Nap and Yannick gave this guy every chance over past two starts. Horse got tired both times. So, guess what? Different kind of trip should be coming here. Moves back to the very tough post. Needs better trip.
10 SIPPIN ON SUDS Looked like he “needed” that qualifier. Plus, he’s dangled in here for just $10,000? Marcus chose another, so maybe that’s telling us something. I will be watching closely, for future evaluation.

H Horse Comment
1 T BARRR Has the look of a longshot, after a sick scratch and a tiring effort here before that. Might need this.
2 MARION GONDOLIER Still finding this level a little too high. A Nap does stick with him, from another inside post. Should be able to sit a little closer and try to pick off a few for a check. That would be good for him.
3 MANDELA BLUE CHIP Regressed into a mistake when forced up the class ladder to this level. That’s never good. Plus A Nap opted off tonight. That’s also not good. Let’s see if he just stays trotting tonight.
4 TAG UP AND GO Both Jess and I loved this guy last week and he raced about as good as he could. Nobody was beating In Secret that night. Now, he must deal with a very well-meant #5. They’ll both take a lot of betting money.
5 DI OGGI Yes, the whole world saw that nightmare trip two weeks ago, and horse finished like an express train! Almost assuredly will be overbet off that, and don’t forget he is forced up in class. It won’t be easy to beat #4 in here. Your call?
6 HOT SUMMER KNIGHT These outside posts are catching up to him. I guess he just doesn’t leave the gate anymore, so look for Tyler to just follow either of the favorites. That should be live cover. Gives him chance to hit the board.
7 BASTILLE His game is usually speed! And this IS the perfect spot to send out of there. Any smooth trip gives him chance to hit the ticket too! Just like he did on Jan 18 at almost 40-1. Very usable in the gimmicks.
8 HAMMER TIME Horse is going very well right now, but just had misfortune of running into a buzzsaw last two races. Tonight’s other problem is the post. First time he’s drawn outside in a while. Not sure if that kills chances.
9 CASH FOR GOLD He’s in the same boat as #8. The switch back out to bad post really complicates matters. He can leave, however. Loses DD, as expected. Will need to get a little “lucky” to have a chance. It can happen.
10 RUBBER DUCK Very mixed feelings about the Duck right now. Yes, that last start was an improvement. But, he gets slammed with post 10 now. Might have to give him one more race from behind.
7 Seventh Race Entries
Picks: 9-5-8-1
H Horse Comment
1 NOWS THE MOMENT Been buried in some real tough spots of late, folks. At least tonight, he finally gets a decent post. Shane will be sitting in, saving ground early and then try to shake free late. Horse has powerful kick at times.
2 DERF HANOVER The Derf gave the classy Two Am all he could handle last week. That might have been best race we’ve seen from him! Also gets a touch of much needed post relief, but is he really an Open type trotter? We’ll see. Trainer: How consistent is this sweet boy? Absolutely overloaded with trot last week, but nowhere to go. Bump up in class, but the inside allows us to use his speed to secure a good spot.
3 LIFE WELL LIVED Last time we saw him here, he was superb! But, against a vastly lesser bunch. Been stuck in tough spots over at The Hilltop. Finds way back here, but in brutal spot. Has to be considered a longshot.
4 BUEN CAMINO Managed to win only once last year, but it did come here. Gelding has been MIA for several weeks, so that’s a problem. That, plus the strength of this field make this a real tough spot. Not quite my type.
5 PAPPY GO GO I thought Pappy might be a little “vulnerable” last week. I was wrong! He raced super! And if not for a sharp foe in that race, he might have won. Now, it’s back up to the Preferred level and he loses Marcus again.
6 CASH ME OUT Took all the betting money last week and almost got it done! Got jammed in just a little too long. Not sure what the price will be tonight, because this is brutally tough race. New driver tonight. Will he send again?
7 TWO AM He “figured” to win that race last week, but it was NO cakewalk! Had to earn it, and he did. With that said, on the step back up in class tonight, I’ll probably be going against. Likely to race from behind tonight.
8 MISSLAROSE Boy has she come back sharp! You just have to love this mare, because she tries VERY hard and loves to dig in and fight! Trust me, she’ll get a huge fight tonight, and the post hurts. Has to gun, try get jump on Trolley.
9 TROLLEY Just absolutely super right now! I love the way they space the races out too! It keeps the horse sharp. Yes, he has to deal with the outside post every time, but he’s done it before. Can leave. Can grind. Just very game!

H Horse Comment
1 KAK’S SHARK ATTACK Seems like all the Cullipher horses got a few weeks off. And that’s a good thing! You have to keep horses fresh and they usually reward you for it. The Kak has beaten similar before. Has speed and good post.
1A INVERSE HANOVER I am VERY anxious to see this mare tonight. She’s an absolute killer and I can’t wait to see if she’s a Big M horse. From post seven, in first start back, I think A Nap will be a little conservative. But, she IS a good one!
2 NARCIAN JEWEL Unfortunately, she’s still too high in class at this level. Have to wait for the eventual drop.
3 JUXTA COWGIRL She looks like a longshot tonight. That qualifier was very good, however, but when you have to start back at the high level like this, you need a race. She’ll drop soon to the proper level and the right spot.
4 BRING ME DIAMONDS Invades from Yonkers, but into an impossible spot. She’s overmatched with these.
5 ROYAL KNOCKOUT Current form isn’t exactly outstanding, but when you draw outside at Yonkers, you get what you get. Scoots over for a big track try and she has won here before. Still a longshot against a group like this.
6 JANUARY A Was very, very good in her North American debut. In fact, I think Marcus thought she won that photo! The trip was tough, but she never stopped grinding. Perfect first try. Tonight’s problem is the hike in class. Your call?
7 BETTIM JACKIE Somehow, someway, won the war with #6 last week. Yannick went back to paddock because he thought he lost the photo! Hey, it happens. Like #6 she forced to double jump up the ladder here. And moves out.
8 SEASWIFT JOY N Also had a very good debut here in the states. That was legitimate stakes winner they were all chasing and this mare never stopped coming. Perfect setup for this. I would love to see if she can leave gate too!
9 PENPAL The Pal gets “assigned” the 10-hole here and it really hurts. She went off at 7-1 in hopeless spot last week, so I do wonder what the price will be tonight? I don’t see any way she can win from out here, without total mayhem.
9 Ninth Race Entries
Picks: 8-2-7-1
H Horse Comment
1 DOWNUNDERMATTER Usually, this is the kind of drop where this guy gets dangerous! But, do note he’s missed a couple of weeks and his last try was a little flat. Caught a good break with the post, so should be able to sit close.
2 LUCRATIVE SON That was a pretty solid qualifier, folks. IF you make the case that Jenny has “figured” this horse out and solved any issues, he’s a big factor in here. I wish Corey was here tonight, since he got along with him in qua.
3 ARCHIBALD This horse must drive Fern P crazy! Just when you think he’s gotten good, he regressed back into those old bad habits. Gets the key drop back down to the bottom, but this is pretty tough field. No mistakes allowed.
4 MISTRESS VALENTINE Gets a better post tonight, but still looks like a big longshot to me. Would be a surprise.
5 P L LAYLA That wasn’t a bad first go for the new barn. Did trot a little late to pass a few. With some tinkering, maybe this mare can get a little closer. Loses DD, but I expected that.
6 QUIET GIANT The Giant has worked his way down to the bottom level, so you figure a wakeup call is coming soon. However, this happens to be a very good bunch for this level. I need to see more before I could endorse.
7 CON AIR HALL Added Lasix last time, but still made no moves. Also takes the dip to the bottom, so I do look for an improved effort soon. Not sure this is the night, but I will be watching closely for future evaluation.
8 P L KETCHUP First start for Team Bongiorno and they get Yannick to boot! Obviously, I have nothing to go on, since that qualifier was up in Canada. Appears to pack plenty of early speed. How can we go against? I can’t. Trainer: First start off the purchase at the sale. Think he should be good, plus we get Yannick, which is always a positive.
9 CAN DO I guess we can make case that Can is getting good again. It’s taken a little longer than expected, but he probably could have won if he got out sooner last time. Tonight’s problem is twofold. The post. And #8. Your call?
10 SCREAMING CONWAY Where’s he going from post 10 in here? Probably not very far.
10 Tenth Race Entries

1 STYLISH BEACHWHERE MIA for a couple weeks, like all the others from this barn. So, we must approach cautiously to see if they’re coming back fully ready. This is the level where she dominated a while back. Good post here too!
1A SANNA CRUZA A First local start for this mare. Was in this barn back in Indiana and I suppose that’s the plan once Hoosier opens again at end of next month. The first start on Lasix was nothing to write home about. Not ready?
2 BIG LIS What a difference Lasix can make! I thought she was a little “vulnerable” from the bad post last week and I was wrong! Raced her eyeballs out, just missing Has to jump up class ladder again, but remains razor sharp.
3 THE SPINSTER N I definitely missed the boat on this lass last week. She’d been very “live” over last month or so, but just didn’t get lucky. That all changed. Perfect trip and drive from Stevie and 5-1 if you bet. Steps up. Can handle it.
4 BETTOR CHILL OUT I do not think this lass can handle the hike here. She needs the lower levels. I will pass.
5 GIVEMEYOURHEART Same boat as #4, as we await the class drop to wake her back up. A longshot tonight.
6 FANCY CREEK JOLENE Got real good there for a while here, and then shipped over to Yonkers for some bad posts and some tough spots. I think she prefers big track and Marcus gets along with her. Very usable price play now.
7 PLAIN OLD JANE Currently suffering a case of the bad post blues. It continues and she’s outclassed as well.
8 DUCK DUCK DRAGON Bouncing up and down the class ladder lately. Been raced from off the pace of late and I see that continuing. Marcus did not choose and that makes sense to me. Pretty tough to make strong case from this post.
9 ROCKIN PRALINE On the comeback trail for Nick and The Red Barn Stable. This mare overcame an injury to get back to the races, and she looked great in the qualifier. I don’t think this is the right spot tonight, but it will be soon.

1 BIG EXPENSE If you think #9 might be suspect in any way, then this is your best option. I’ve been waiting for the class drop on this guy, and if #9 weren’t in here, he’d be a best bet. Might still be tough to beat from the pole position.
2 MUAY HANOVER Did pretty good work last week, considering the odds. Same situation here. Maybe he can step around #1, but that might be tough. Either way, he’s glued to the pylons after that. Picks up another check?
3 WINDSUN MISSILE Where on earth did that mile come from? Obviously, I can’t answer that. But, it was impressive and I hope somebody cashed. Tonight, he’s forced up the class ladder and loses Andy. That’s not going to work.
4 CASINO CUTIE IT Seems to be working his way back into shape for Bill Mullin. Eric has been conservative with him, but the gloves will come off one night soon. I’d love to see him leave in this spot. Gives him big chance to upset.
5 GWALLY Finds his way back to NJ from Ohio. Bounced up and down the class ladder out there. He does have some prior success here, so keep that in mind. I would like to watch one first, so I’ll pass. Might need a class drop too!
6 CAN’TCUTTHATCHIP Tough to get a real read on his current form after that scratch. Yes, he was very good here back in December, so I’ll give credit for that. Can he really be ready for this? Off almost a month. Very tough call.
7 CHELSEES A WINNER Moves back outside and that moves her back to longshot status. Not from out here.
8 ARCH CREDIT Another that probably can’t win the race, but he can hit the ticket. That speed has been strong of late, but I really would like to see him get a “follow” trip and not set the pace. That would help chances.
9 NEWCASTLE Could you possibly “cherry pick” an easier spot than this? Barely fits the condition, because he hasn’t won recently. But, it’s a huge class drop. After that “needed” race, he will be A-1 ready for this. Impossible to go against. Trainer: Tough post, but a great class for him. I think he’s ready, second start off the qualifier.
10 ANOTHER CHAPTER Doesn’t seem to get lucky too often and that continues here. Where’s he going from post 10? Not very far. Will pick off the tired ones late and that won’t be enough.

1 CHIEF JUSTICE First time trotting hopples was a success! Yannick held him together to get the tie with a longshot. The price wasn’t very inviting and now this step up in class make him a play against for me. He’ll probably win anyway.
2 MAX VOLO Doesn’t get all that lucky very often, so that’s an issue. The inside post drawn is a big plus tonight, as he only needs to follow #1 early. Usually owns a decent kick at end of mile. Let’s see if it’s enough to pull the upset.
3 BOMBSHELL BELLE She’s definitely a “work in progress” for Team Harmon. Not ready for this just yet.
4 KONNICHIWA First try for new barn over at Yonkers was a tough trip disaster. I can understand switching over to the mile track, but he’s going to need a big turnaround just to have a chance. I need to see one first.
5 DEWEY HAVA WINNER Dewey hasn’t had much luck lately and I think that will continue here. A longshot again.
6 MASSAMILLION Received some time off. Probably needed it, after a 25 start campaign last year The two qualifiers were both okay, so I expect this guy to find the right spot soon. This isn’t it, just yet.
7 LUCKY SHEILA Always have to respect her strong speed, because it always puts her in good position. If we could just teach her how to finish, we’d have a real racehorse! Her blasting makes the task of #8,9 that much tougher.
8 ALVISI HANOVER Was his last effort a fluke? Or should we expect that to continue? That’s a good question. I was impressed by the newfound speed, but this does look like much tougher test. If price short, I’ll probably go against.
9 PENNANT SEELSTER Had this guy drawn a better post, I’d pronounce him a lock! BUT, early speed isn’t exactly his best weapon and there are two leavers just to his inside. Might also be “overbet” off last effort. Tough call.

1 SPANISH ART Needed one more inch of racetrack to pay off last week. Oh well! We’re likely looking at a very short price to end the card and the inside post is always key for this one. I don’t see anything in here that can beat him.
2 ABBEYLARA Was having trouble gaining into that sprint home last week, so don’t hold that against him. Gets the two-hole now, with the favorite just inside. It’s all about pace and trip for this fella. He wouldn’t be a shocker here.
3 ASHOK ACE Did exactly what he was supposed to last week. Sit, save ground and just keep up. Same thing here.
4 JUST N BERLANDER Had NO chance the way the race went last week. Prior to that was the big upset. I can’t really envision a scenario that works for him from this spot tonight. Kyle will just have to be patient, try to get a trip.
5 SEA STAR No real impact here in Big M debut. I would need to see a lot more than that to endorse. Pass again.
6 NO TEARS BLUE CHIP Not much going on in this corner right now. Needs a huge turnaround to get into the game.
7 BUCKEYE IN CHARGE This horse, and outside posts do not usually agree. Demand a big, big price if you think he can sweep these from the back of the pack. Not likely.
8 SPORTS COWBOY He doesn’t win all that often, so that’s a problem. He has been okay of late and when pilot reads the program, he’ll know he HAS to leave in this spot. Guns, hoping for a tuck into turn one. That would help.
9 IN YOUR EYE Took a little bit of money last week, which was surprising. The bad post blues continue tonight and horse doesn’t appear to have any early speed. How’s that going to work out?
10 ROLLING SEA We all know his story by now and post 10 will probably seal the deal for tonight. He has one, very short burst of speed, so timing and trip are always critical. Been taking betting action recently. Not sure why.
