H Horse Comment
1 VODKA ON THE BEACH Qualifiers were okay, folks, and note that Andy Mac opted here over #7. That’s a telling choice. This stablemate to Rebel Rouser might take the same path and march through conditions. Watch out!
2 CLASSIC Raced a lot better last time when he drew the rail down at Freehold. Allie sees fit to march him up the Turnpike for a big track try. Yes, he will have to go a lot faster and I guess I need to see it first.
3 BACKSEAT TERROR Lone mare in here is doing well at picking up checks, but she doesn’t seem to be a real threat to win. Now 0-24 and counting, so consider using underneath, but probably not on top.
4 SMART TALKER Hasn’t been very good on the half over at Yonkers, so have to be careful here. Transitions to big track and will need to show a lot more. I can’t guarantee it’s coming.
5 CORTEZ THE KILLER Harris called this a “project horse” a few weeks back. After a deceptively good qualifier, he did not race well in first start back. That was first time Lasix too! So, there must be a few “issues” here. Have to pass off that.
6 ALWAYS’S CLOSE Took a typical “tour of the track” in a race that had more favorable stablemate. Gelding just gapped at the back. Now, it looks like a softer spot, but Yannick opted to #10. That’s very telling
7 AMERICAN VISION He was just okay in those last two here. Ended up with nice trips in both and I thought he “hung” a little last week. With that said, another knock is that Andy Mac opted for #1. Doesn’t that tell us something?
8 WOOLWORTH Another having some problems on the smaller-size ovals. Drew poorly here, so I will pass for now.
9 JACKAMINO Scratched out of his scheduled Big M return. That can’t be a good thing, right? Needs that speed he offered down at Freehold and that would put him in play. Gets the DD now, so that usually means go!
10 BOMBAY HANOVER Did win last year as a freshman out in Kentucky, but for different barn. Had a VERY good qualifier here, in fast time, and barn is off to a wicked-good start here. Is this gelding ready? Yannick opted here ov #6.

1 ITSNOPROBLEMMAN Still doing great work, folks! Pressed pretty hard last week and he fought gallantly all the way home. Looks like the same situation here from a better post. Will Dex want to set the pace, or stalk this time?
2 JULERICA Sometimes you just have to give credit when it’s due! This barn really had this guy ready to go, off some sneaky-good qualifiers. And they were rewarded too! First time BigM and first time Yannick equaled steamroll $31!
3 BAY RUM Had a touch of late pace, but was never really a threat last week. That’s been the problem for a while now. He appears to get the same kind of trip in here and unless his move gets stronger, he will settle for a check.
4 ROCKIN THE HOUSE Had his first race over the track and it was just about what I expected. With that said, Yannick had to stick with #2 tonight and I feel this 12YO will need at least one more. I’m willing to wait.
5 IDEAL SON Things finally set up just perfectly for this gelding and he grabbed a long overdue win. Very nice if you bet him! Stays in for the exact same pricetag and only needs a similar journey to get close again. That’s up to Corey.
6 SPAGHETTI EDDIE Eddie is also going very well right now, and for an extended period of time. Surprising me! BUT, tonight, for first time he gets a tough post. It will complicate matters. I will likely swing against from out here.
7 JK PARLAY We all missed the boat on this guy when he barreled right down the road out of post 10 last week. So, if you didn’t go to the wedding, should you show up for the funeral? I’m usually a no in that spot. Back to claimers.
8 TERROR OF THE NITE None of barn’s horses are getting any love from the post gods and it’s just killing them. This veteran gelding is good enough when he can get a trip, but how will he get one from way out here? Not likely.
3 Third Race Entries
Picks: 3-6-1- 2
H Horse Comment
1 PECORINO Was pretty-well backed and thought of last week in second start back and simply delivered a clunker. Now, it’s first-time Lasix, so maybe that tells the story? Either way, if you bet last time, might as well take another shot.
2 MAJOR WAR He’s now burned money twice! Sometimes you just get tired of taking low odds and not getting results. Was put in play both times by DD and just didn’t get lucky. Drew well again and will surely make at least one move.
3 FOX VALLEY HERBIE Racing back into shape after a good-size layoff. This is now third start back, and second at bottom level. The wakeup call is coming soon and it might even be tonight. Drew nice post. No killers in here.
4 ROCK N ROLL LEGACY Unplayable in current dull form. Need to see some signs of life before I could endorse.
5 P L IDAHO Been a pretty big “underachiever” of late, so he switches to a new barn in hopes of a wakeup call. Those are hard to predict, but in a field like this, you never know. Horse is an 18-time winner lifetime.
6 BUD BAY Yannick hopped aboard last time and the Bud took all the money! Unfortunately, it didn’t work out, but horse flashed a new dimension of speed. It caught my eye, so maybe he can slow it down now? Chances going up.
7 GRAVE DANCER Doesn’t win all that often, but can jump up with a big mile at times. Picks up Andy Mac here and that always catches my eye. My problem is, that I just don’t know if he’s fast enough anymore. That’s the call.
8 LEGION OF BOOM Took another aggressive overland try last out and didn’t quit all that badly. Switches out to a much tougher post tonight and that IS a problem. Will KT send him out of there? My guess is: probably!
9 FRANKIE BOY Frankie’s been dull everywhere of late, so he looks like a pass from a real bad post again.
10 REDLINE RUSTY Billy Dob did a nice job of ground-saving in Rusty’s return to Club Med. Unfortunately, gelding is not exactly “rewarded” with this post now. I don’t see how he gets into the game.
4 Fourth Race Entries
Picks: 3-1-8-5
H Horse Comment
1 SPONDULICKS N Two good starts since being taken over by Team Bongiorno. Yes, this is a BIG step up and switch back to the big track, but I hesitate to eliminate anything from this barn. Catches a suspect bunch too!
2 VICTORYDAZE WILWIN Beginning to work his way back down the class ladder now, so we have to take a longer look. I like the post. I like the potential for some pace in here. If he gets into a live flow, he can finish fast.
3 SPORTS VISION He finally found a field of his friends last week and snapped a pretty long skid. Sometimes those confidence builders do wonders, because this horse went on a roll earlier. Price might be okay on class hike too!
4 TWINCREEKS JESSE Definitely in need of this class relief, but I don wonder if it will take a drop to the bottom?
5 TALK SHOW We can easily give him a pass for the return try here from post 10. This spot seems a lot more like it. Midpack post gives Vinny options, but he will probably wait for the flow. Plenty of other speed in here. Needs a trip.
6 CENTURY CHURCHILL Just keeps firing out of the gate and just keeps getting tired. Same old, same old, right? I really see no reason to expect any increased stamina, unless I’m missing something. It’s your call, folks.
7 BUPA BRUSIER The Bupa makes his return to the scene of a few strong miles. I can’t guarantee he’s cranked and ready for best yet, but if not, he will be soon. Watch closely for future evaluation.
8 GHOST PINE Has a great history of big miles here, but only at times. Maybe this is one of them? Reunited with Mr. McCarthy, who I believe put that 49 record on him. Speed tightened down at Freehold. It’s time to take a swing.
9 TALENT SOUP The Meadowlands Pace start seems like a long time ago. Actually a couple of years. I can’t say I was happy with that qualifier, as he was struggling just to keep up. SO, I think he’s going to need a race or two.
10 LIFE HAPPENED This guy has actually rounded back into better form, but quietly. Just when you think you might be ready to bet, he gets slammed with post 10. I hate post 10! And this guy doesn’t blast. Guess I have to pass again.
5 Fifth Race Entries

H Horse Comment
1 HE CAN FLY N Working his way back into shape, and probably racing over his head for now. I see the post relief, so that will help a lot, but I’m not ready to pull the trigger just yet. Hoping for more class relief soon.
2 STONEDUST Now makes his second start at this reduced level and it’s getting well past now-or-never time. He has to be better than he shows and it’s time to step up his game. A Nap’s choice over #8. Tells us a little something.
3 BIG STRETCH MARK He’s got some excuses, plugged in with some tough trips. Always versatile enough to go either way. Looking at the inside pair, Eric A just might send again. But, they will need smooth-sailing late. Tough call.
4 BRUCE’S MAGIC Boy, that was a tough beat if you backed Bruce again last time! But, he handled the step up to this level nicely, and he gets a better post to boot! IF you fancy his chances tonight, I certainly wouldn’t talk you off him.
5 SISKEL It’s tough to get a real read on his form. One thing I can say, is that he doesn’t like tough trips. This is the ideal post for him, but it may still be a notch too high in class. Demand fair value if you want to take a swing tonight.
6 SOLO STORY Bouncing up and down the class ladder, and from track to track lately. The bottom line is that he’s got NO wins. So, maybe you can use him as a playable longshot underneath? Maybe.
7 ROCK STAR He’s just too high in class right now and stuck with a tougher post here. That makes him a longshot.
8 URBAN RENEWAL Mixed feelings about his spot tonight. Is the horse sharp now? Yes. But, the slide out to rough post and the loss of A Nap make me hesitate. He’s not exactly loaded with early speed. Will he be too far back?
9 PRETTY BOY SWAG Has now gunned out in four straight races. Eventually, you have to give them one from behind. I have a feeling tonight might be that night. But, you never know. We all have to guess.
10 SMILEANDSAYCHEESE Keeps getting pounded at the windows and keeps finding ways to not get it done. Moves back out to worst post and has zero speed. He can’t be my kind of choice with that one-way racing style.
6 Sixth Race Entries
Picks: 8-4-5-1
H Horse Comment
1 NASCAR SEELSTER Picked up a check at pretty long odds last time, so that’s always a good thing. Gets a better, midpack post which is usually a plus. Keeps DD in the sulky seat and that’s another positive. Good-looking entry.
1A INCREDIBLE SHARK I’m not really sure what to do with this guy right now. Makes second start at this level and wasn’t all that great last time. The race did not set up for him, but oh well. Loses the Nap here. Mixed feelings.
2 MR CENSI Just toss that last one, as he was way over his head. This is only a slight drop back down, but probably a better spot. Marcus will be glued to the pylons here and I wouldn’t be shocked if he got a piece of it late.
3 IAMMRBRIGHTSIDE N An old fan favorite finds his way back to the Med. That freshening will probably do him some good, but I do feel he’s going to need at least one. Nap will protect him and tighten him up for now. Wait.
4 A LOTBETTOR N Took ALL the money last week and couldn’t overcome a tough trip. BUT, he raced very well and was game in defeat. It caught my eye. I’d have a tough time leaving off the ticket, after seeing that. A must use.
5 GINGER TREE MARTY Yannick chose this horse last week, which surprised a few of us. He really had no chance the way the race went, so don’t hold that against him. This spot is perfect on the drop back down. Squeezes in condition.
6 BARIMAH A Bouncing up and down the class ladder. A few scratches sprinkled in. It does raise some questions, but we all know he can fly when put in the right spot. After trying the leave last time, it may be back to off the pace.
7 FRANKANDJOANNE Not sure how he did it, but DD got some speed out of Frank and they parlayed nice trip into a huge upset. With that said, the bad post blues continue, and this level might be a bit too high. I’m going with that.
8 THEREISAPACEFORUS I have a very good note on this fella from last time he raced here. The Yonkers races came against much tougher, so this is legitimate drop back down. For the heartiest of longshot players tonight.
9 SOHO WALLSTREET A If you can just guess right on when Soho is in the right spot, you’d be rich. Last week looked like the right spot, and he won. This does NOT look like the right spot, so I will take a pass.
7 Seventh Race Entries

H Horse Comment
1 DULL ROAR Loaded two back in traffic. Decent finish last week, but with much better trip. Gets the rail now, but loses Andy Mac, so we definitely have mixed signals. Will try to sit close and kick in again late. That’s the ticket.
2 CLOUSEAU HANOVER I was very “intrigued” by that blast out of the gate last week. Pat took a shot, caught a tuck and then kept up late. Note I said, “kept up.” Wasn’t loaded, but he’s getting back into shape. Bound to pop soon.
3 THREEOFTHEBEST A I have no idea what happened last time, so don’t even ask! Maybe that’s why he missed some time? With that said, I would have a tough time firing right back. I’m almost surprised to see him right back in the box. Trainer: Just ran out of condition towards the end of the mile last week. The class also went a little quicker than what it’s been going. I would have liked him back at the races sooner, but his feet got a little soft after being sent to turnout farm. With a run under his belt, and a couple of gear adjustments, I expect an improved performance.
4 MCERLEAN MIA for three weeks, so that’s the first knock. His first few starts back off layoff were downright poor. That’s the second knock. Does he have tons of back class? Yes! Closing in on million. Not sure he’s ready tonight.
5 BELL I NO Took another solid speed try last week, but basically got run over by #9. Weakened before that, in a race that he probably needed. I guess he’s just not as sharp as he was back in December. I need to see more now.
6 STARZNHEAVEN Apparently, he wasn’t primed and ready for the comebacker here. Okay, that happens. But, he’s had way too many super miles here to ignore now. If he takes ANY action at all, you’d better toss him onto your tickets.
7 SHAMBALLA World-class pacer here, now racing for new barn off the layoff. Was okay, but not super in the qualifier, so this may serve as his “second qualifier.” I’ll be watching for future evaluation. Trainer: He’s an all-class animal! Nothing will surprise me with him. By rights, maybe a touch short, but he’s so game, he may come home like a Ferrari!
8 WINDSONG JACK One of the many possibilities in this impossible race. Jack was a very good second to #9 last week and has the slight post edge again. He’s got plenty of speed to use when Yannick wants. Tough to leave out.
9 MINDTRIP Best word I can use for last week’s win is: mindblowing! Wow, that was powerful effort. Mitch seems to be getting along nicely, but both he, and the horse will be sternly tested from this starting slot. He has to gun out a little.
10 WHITTAKER N Lot of fans for this fella, but unless you’re planning on total mayhem, I think he’ll be too far back.

1 FUNKNWAFFLES It’s too bad he isn’t fully cranked and ready, because Corey had him in a perfect spot last week. But, oh well. Moves all the way inside now and we just might see a touch more speed to protect. Likely to sit in and save.
2 NEW TALENT Just keeps racing well. It’s as simple as that. Had plenty of kick when he finally shook free last week. I do wonder what A Nap will try here. Can he step around #1 for a trip? Good question. Definitely a factor in here.
3 BOOGIE SHUFFLE Every once in a while, this barn can pop with one off a layoff. But, does this look like a good spot for first start in nine months? Yes, that last qualifier was good, but I’m willing to wait. Let’s see if he’s ready. CC’s pick.
4 MCTHRILLER It’s hard to believe, but the Thrill has made it all the way up to the top level. Was very quietly loaded with pace last time, but is he really a Preferred type horse? I’m leaning towards no.
5 SAMS TRIPLE CROWN Sam is back, and we all know he loves this track. BUT, he’s used to racing at a lower level than this. So, even though he looks pretty sharp, I will probably go against for now. Wasn’t Corey’s choice.
6 CASTLE FLIGHT Can’t really be any sharper than this right now. Paid some dividends on that claim, but every week here at the Big M is a test and this gelding must overcome a tougher post now. Yannick will have to send him now.
7 THE WALL In a talent-packed field like this, you can’t like them all. The Wall is suffering a case of the bad post blues right now and he might be overmatched anyway. Has to prove himself on the big track, and I need to see it first.
8 STORMONT CZAR A Usually pretty good when he finds the right spot and this isn’t it. Pass for now.
9 K RYAN BLUECHIP Just when I started making the case that K Ryan had tailed off, he uncorks another monster mile. So, since this is a handicap, he now moves back outside, which hampered him greatly. Do we swing against?

1 BACKSTREET LAWYER Barn shows up here with a few “new shooters” this weekend. Okay. This clearly looks like a good spot, provided those Miami Valley races were quality. Note horse took his mark on a mile track in Illinois.
2 TACT TATE N Okay, already! Tate finally got the job done, in a race where he was supposed to win. So, now what do we do? Expect that to be a confidence builder? Begins his ascent back UP the class ladder, but wasn’t Dunn’s choice!
3 CITY HALL Had a disastrous return to Club Med last week. But, tonight he gets a further class drop AND a better post. Can you say live longshot? I can. He’s had far too many good miles here in the past to ignore now. Price will be right.
4 EVER AGAIN As previously stated, he’s been as “live” as a horse can be, but he hasn’t sealed the deal. So, what will the price be tonight? And is he worth low odds? Both legitimate questions. You’ll have to make your own decision.
5 A BETTOR HAT Clearly wasn’t ready for his comebacker at home base. I guess we could call this a drop. And, Gannon gets Andy Mac. Horse has won here before, but it was long time ago. Not really sure what to expect out of this guy.
6 AVATARTIST Definitely racing better with the hopples back on. Can’t fault that try last week in any way. Just ran into well-meant winner. Seems to be going well with the speed, so let’s expect Yannick to send again, as his choice over #1.
7 DELIGHTFUL OFFER N Steadily working his way down the class ladder. Wakeup call time is coming soon, but we may have to guess when. He can leave, but so can many others. I might take a pass and watch for future evaluation.
8 DASH OF DANGER Another one for barn getting no love from the post gods. Kyle took a shot on the drop last time and got lucky, but horse was good too! Not sure I can expect him to repeat on the hike back up. Needs some luck.
9 ALL WEEK Another bad post here and I’m not sure what Pat will do. Horse is good right now, but post stinks.
10 REDONKULOUS Dex opted for this one last week and the never had a chance. Now, DD sticks over #2, which is a shocker! The Donk just might be leaving the gate in that case. He’ll have to, just to get into the game.
10 Tenth Race Entries

1 AWESOMENESS One of the many, many possibilities in this “Dropdown Derby.” One of them is going to win, but good luck guessing! I’m not a particular fan of this horse, and price is always short, so I am against.
2 PEPPER GUY First start back off the layoff and I thought his qualifier was okay. Usually, this barn qualifies them twice, so I do wonder if this will serve as his second prep. I’m going to pass and watch one. Dangerous, however.
3 LETJIMMYTAKEOVER Took a bunch of betting money on the drop last time and failed to deliver any kind of winning kick. Yes, nobody was catching Tact Tate, but he could have had more. Too many dropdowns to face in here.
4 DUBIOUS CLAIM Been somewhat dull, and pace-compromised lately. So, if you think he’s in the right spot on the drop here, go ahead and bet. I suggest you get decent price to go along with it. Needs big wakeup call.
5 KENRICK N Ordinarily, this would be spot I’d be very interested in. Horse won 10 times last year, so he IS overdue. I’m sure connections envisioned an easier situation, but this isn’t that. Another that you have to get price on to try.
6 JACKSRLUCKYTOO Jack was okay again last week. He ran into a well-meant buzzsaw. Came on nicely. Similar situation here. If the flow is live, he has rallying chance. There is some outside power to spice up the pace. Maybe.
7 HEAVENLY SOUND I’m going to take a stand and say he isn’t ready for this just yet. Wait for better spot.
8 MR CARROTTS Currently suffering a case of the bad post blues. This spot looks no good for horse with no speed.
9 ROOTIN TOOTIN Very, very tough call here. Why? It’s a terrible post, and he’s shown no early speed lately. BUT, he was absolutely loaded once he shook free last week. This IS the right level, but maybe not the right post?
10 DEPENDLEBURY A Not exactly getting any post love either! And, it’s too bad, because gelding seems good now. I’ll probably pass and wait for a better spot sometime soon.
11 Eleventh Race Entries

1 JK WILDFIRE What do we do with this fella off the layoff? Everybody sprinted home in that qualifier, but 25.2 is still 25.2! If the other layoff horse from this barn did well, (Pepper Guy) maybe this one will race well too! Tough call.
2 DUCKIES DYNASTY Have to give credit where it’s due! The Duckie got lucky last week, but he also earned it! This gelding seems to be improving and gaining confidence all the time. Faces same bunch, with same speed plan.
3 SHARP ACTION MONEY Gave a well-meant winner all he could handle two weeks ago. That sharp effort caught my eye. Gets a slightly better post, in this ultra-competitive race. I just don’t know about the price. Probably too low.
4 WISE IMAGE If not for Duckie getting lucky, this guy would have won at 10-1! It was yet another, in a long list of strong efforts. Have to like this horse and Marcus seems to fit perfectly. Will he leave, or take back and wait?
5 MAJOR OFFENSE After watching the qualifiers, I just don’t think he’s primed and ready for a big one. I will wait.
6 LARRYS PETROCK Looks like the longshot in here, appearing overmatched at this level. Not for me just yet.
7 ANNIHILATION Transitioned over to Yonkers very well. That’s a good thing! Horse couldn’t be any sharper and he’s become adaptable too! That’s a solid weapon to have in your corner. Plus, he now gets Andy Mac. All positives.
8 LYONS STEEL Looks like the other longshot in here, having drawn bad post. No threat last time, but had excuse.
9 WHATSTROUBLNUROCKY See how the other Morgan newcomer did in race nine. If that guy raced well, expect this one to be ready too! Talented homebred here, but yes, he must deal with an outside post in very good field.
10 WORKIN THEM ANGELS Final piece of this wide open puzzle. Looked superb in his qualifier and I’ll add a few more points if Bombay won the first tonight. He’s got the speed to negate post 10. Let’s see if cranked and ready, even if Marcus opted off. Trainer: Just in a really tough post. He’s fit. He’s ready. But, I don’t know how he gets involved.
12 Twelfth Race Entries

1 OZONE BLUE CHIP Not sure how, but he paid 6-1 on the massive class drop down at Freehold! Good for them! Now, it’s a double jump up in class with the switch to the big track. At least he gets Andy Mac from a cozy post. Very usable.
2 SPICEBOMB No shot last time. Tough trip before that. The excuses are piling up a bit, but you have to give him an extra look in a field like this. Especially from an inside post. A quick turnaround wouldn’t shock me, so consider that.
3 BETTORS GLASS Earned a couple months off. Came back with pretty decent qualifier, but I’m hoping he needs one.
4 VALRHONA Horse is pretty good right now, but I still feel this is too high a level for him. Biggest asset here is Yannick on the reride. Should be higher than the 5-1 he offered last time. Would need a lot more to win.
5 PRETTY BOY HILL Another longshot, working his way down the class ladder until the wakeup call comes. Not yet.
6 JK WILL POWER Got bet off the board last week, when trainer thought he’d be ready. He came up just short, so he was well-meant. With that race under his belt, the veteran will be pretty tough to beat now. Likely short price again.
7 TJ BLAST Interesting newcomer here. After a long layoff, he had a couple of very nice preps over at Yonkers. I love to see the speed-tightener too! If not for #6 in here, I would probably love. Andy will be nice fit for him too!
8 FATHER SARDUCCI Forced up in class for third straight time. And now he moves back outside to further complicate matters. Seems like a one-way closer, so this is NO easy spot. Would need exactly the right kind of setup to sweep.
9 KEYSTONE STEAM Not sure I can be too positive on this one’s first start here. Invades from Ohio. Stuck outside.
10 SPIRIT OF TRUTH Talk about the bad post blues! It continues. That, plus the gelding will need a class drop anyway. It’s your call, folks, but I’m leaving him out for now.

1 WHITE BLISS Needless to say, I’ve been a bit “skeptical” about his performances lately. BUT, Yannick had choice in here and opted for Whitey over #10. That’s a big call! Gets the rail and we’re going to see more speed. Is it enough?
2 MCARDLES LIGHTNING He’s getting a bit better, and a little closer with each race. This is very interesting spot. Figures to leave along with #1 and they can both protect the inside. Don’t be shocked if he gets a LOT closer here.
3 YUPPER Yupper came flying home from a pretty tough spot last week. Nobody was catching Parlay, but the flow was live. It was BIG step in right direction and this level is clearly where he can do damage. Hoping faves get softened up.
4 DEMOCRACY N He’s long overdue for some sort of wakeup call, but they are hard to predict. This is now the bottom level, so it doesn’t get any softer than this. Let’s see if there’s any more pace in the tank tonight. Eric C opted to #3.
5 DANCIN HILL Never really got rolling last week. And that was WITH Andy Mac aboard. Same post. Same potential setup, but he’ll need to up his game substantially to get any closer.
6 MAJOR ACTION MIA for a little too long for my taste. Got tortured from bad post in Meadows finale, so I won’t hold that against him. Recently on Lasix. I suppose turnaround is coming soon, but I’m hoping not tonight. I will wait.
7 SO TAKE THAT Looks like the big longshot in here, having not done much recently. I would be surprised if he won.
8 FOX VALLEY HIJINX Another Husted barn horse with a poor post. Oh well. The Jinx did leave a little from this slot last time, so Kyle will be looking to his left. This is the level where he can win, but he will need a trip to get it done.
9 HEARTLAND REVENUE Big drop, but back out to horrible post. I’m not ready to hop on board his boat just yet.
10 WEBMASTER HANOVER Seemed like everybody bet on him last time, and he still failed to get the job done. Yannick drove that night and elected to stick with #1. That’s not a good sign for this one. That, plus the move to post 10.
