1 JK PRIDENJOY Bouncing up and down the class ladder lately with some bad posts and tough trips. Seems overdue for a bit of better luck. From rail here, he will be stalking early for Marcus. A maybe, if the price is square.
2 OHIO LARRY One of two that come out of that strong Winning Linc race. Larry wasn’t all that great in it, but this looks like different bunch. Since that opening night win, he’s been a little disappointing. I’ll expect more speed here.
3 ARTISTIC CRUISER Didn’t have quite the same response last week for the amateur driver. Gets Stevie back tonight and very similar trip coming. Will probably sit in, save ground and try to get lucky late, like he did two back.
4 ALL IT TAKES Still waiting on a wakeup call here, but tonight might be it! Gets post relief. Gets Tetrick back. Meets a questionable bunch and is long overdue to show more Hinted a bit with the rally last time. Is tonight the night?
5 THE DARK SHADOW Another that just hasn’t been all that great lately. Maybe that’s why he’s just 1-22 this year? Owns a turn of speed, but then rarely the finish. I guess Yannick better time his one move just right.
6 BAREFOOT BLUEJEANS Stevie opted to #3 tonight, which was a surprise. This gelding was really good with that flying finish two back. Went back to Freehold and wasn’t able to sustain similar move. Hoping for that hot pace setup.
7 WILDCAT HILTON Got roughed up and parked out in his Big M debut. Not exactly an ideal introduction! Will Simons try that again? I’m going to guess no, so horse will need a dream trip from well back. That doesn’t work much either.
8 SIR BRADFORD Had him when he won, given nice trip by Vinny. Dave took over last time on the slight class hike and he got used harder early. This post isn’t going to help, but I do see him leaving. Has to get into the game somehow.
9 SPORTSMANSHIP Moves from the pole to post 10 and nothing ruins things more than that. I don’t see him firing out, so it could be a very long night for this gelding, coming from last.

1 MAJOR BETTS I guess I didn’t get the memo on this colt last week, as he was bet off the board and used very hard. Paid the price late, but it was still a VERY good effort. Seems to have this group at his mercy. Very short price.
2 READY SET ROCK One of three fillies in here, taking on the task of trying to beat the colts. Yes, they get to race for $40,000, but it’s an uphill climb. Best asset here is the post, but she may not be primed and ready for this.
3 FOLLOW YOUR HEART Enjoyed a nice confidence builder over at Pocono. Those help. Chased some Jersey stakes types earlier, so that helps. Seems like he’s fast enough now, so he can pick up a piece of this. Sits and stalks?
4 SOUND IDEA Back from Canada where she kept up in some VERY good races! I see Alicorn and Priceless and Crown winner Reflect With Me. So, this is some class relief, with the exception of #1. Expect Z to be aggressive tonight.
5 ROCKIN THE GATES Quietly having a nice freshman campaign. Three wins. Qualified down at home base, so we can’t see that. The line looks good, and we know the colt likes this track. Nice spot going for $40K. Likes to grind into it.
6 CAVIART HEATHER This filly hasn’t had any luck here. I still remember that sweep of the field down at Freehold, so we know she has ability. Tonight’s problem is likely the post. She doesn’t leave at all. At mercy of both pace and trip.
7 COLUMBO Son of Sweet Lou here that has been brought along slowly. Picked up minor checks in last pair of stakes down at Philly. Will try the big track now, but from bad post. I wonder what the plan is? He’s shown speed before.
3 Third Race Entries
Picks: 5-7-9-4
H Horse Comment
1 IN ROCK WE TRUST Third time with Lasix and back to an inside post. He’s surprised us before in spots like this, so don’t be shocked if he goes forward here. Joe “loses” the drive on #9, which always hurts. That one was contender.
2 FRANKANDJOANNE Finds his way back up the Turnpike from Freehold. He’s been here before and won a race or two in the past. I rarely endorse him here, because he needs everything to go his way. That doesn’t happen often.
3 TARAMAKAUREACTOR N I think I’ve just about given up on this one. So, he’ll probably win tonight. Unfortunately, horse hasn’t been very consistent. And he makes the odd mistake. So, I will let him beat me, if he can.
4 JOHN DALLY Another one that will rarely be a pick for me. But, even I will admit he’s in decent form right now. That last trip was impossible. Marcus seems to get along with him best. But, they will still need a smoother trip.
5 BURNING DESIRE Gets the very tepid call as morning line favorite, in this field full of question marks. Did a lot of the dirty work in that key race won by Winning Linc late. Any repeat of that type effort and he’s probably the one to beat.
6 MASTER OF PUPPETS One of several in here coming off very tough trips. One of them will probably get lucky tonight and trip-out to win. Puppets is always a tough play for me. He teases at good efforts a lot. Tough call.
7 BROOKDALE FLETCHER Down from Monti with some just fair looking lines. Barn is ready to catch fire, and horse is catching a weak bunch here, but it’s also a bad post and a step up in class. Must prove he belongs here.
8 BECKYS DREAMBOAT Still looking like a longshot to me, especially after that scratch. Not my type.
9 IDEAL SON Joe put a picture perfect steer on the Son last week and they catapulted home nicely at 7/2. From this post, it’s hard to envision getting that same great trip and the price won’t be that much bigger. Your call?
10 HURRIKANE KINGKONG I guess I’m off his boat now too! Will need to see some improvement again. Pass.
4 Fourth Race Entries

H Horse Comment
1 BIG STRETCH MARK The Stretch got it done in a big way, given another great drive by Eric A. He gets along best with the gelding. They hike up in class again, but get the rail. Will be powering out of there to hopefully sit a trip.
2 MCTHRILLER Big M veteran got some needed time off and will benefit from that. Looked just a hair tired in that qualifier, but Dexter felt enough to choose him over #4. That’s a big call, so he expects horse to be ready. One to beat?
3 SOLO STORY Things worked out nicely for him with a win last week against lesser. Takes the big bump up, like #1, and both will have to be even better to repeat. It’s not easy. Andy will try to get him similar trip to threaten.
4 TACT TATE N Always a very hard horse to gauge, because you just never know what you’re going to get. Parlayed a pocket trip from the rail at Yonkers into a 6-1 win. Why was price so big? And why did Dexter choose off? Good ??
5 SHARP ACTION MONEY Somebody in here has to be the longshot. He also won his last, but against much weaker over at Pocono. I know he’s done well here in past, but it might take career effort to repeat. Big step up here.
6 WEONA SIZZLER A Barn is hot right now, so keep that in mind. Was overmatched the one time we saw him here. This is a pretty good bunch too! A Mac back in the seat. Some speed on view. Takes a shot and sends? Don’t know.
7 AMERICANPRIMETIME We all know he’s sending on out of there! War horse has been battling bravely each and every week and he seems overdue to get the whole pie. This is his chance, despite the post. Must control it.
5 Fifth Race Entries
Picks: 2-3-4-6
H Horse Comment
1 MCCITO Definitely went a little more forward last week, pressing the issue. He did get tired, understandably. Drew another key inside post, but will have to make things easier. Might need a touch more patience too!
2 WHITTAKER N Had a needed start over the track off the layoff here and wasn’t terrible. I thought Tyler would take the re-ride, but he opted for #4. I still think this guy’s got a big chance, because he loves this track. Consider that.
3 HEARTLAND REVENUE One of many in for the barn that have big chance this weekend. After a couple of no-chance trips from the bad post, this is both post and class relief. That’s usually sign of wakeup call. Expect a better effort.
4 BIG JER Tyler chose this one tonight, over #2, but he does drive more for this barn. Jer has never had much luck here, but in limited tries. He’s also second off the layoff. Will have to show LOT more than he did up at Monticello.
5 MR CARROTTS Burned more money with his last loss as favorite. He’s done that many times in the past, so that’s why I rarely put him on top. This field might be stronger than that last one too! Not my kind of play in here.
6 HIGHLANDBEACHYCOVE One of these layoff horses is probably going to race well tonight. Maybe this one? He did look short in the comebacker from the flow. Looks like same kind of trip here, but in need of more punch. Maybe.
7 IMAGEOFAROCKER Was almost 100-1 in the Trackmaster race. Is this tougher, or easier? Not sure. Pass.
8 VICTORYDAZE WILWIN I imagine a few people might be betting the Daze tonight, and I will wish them good luck. He went a little more forward last time, as he races back into shape. One night soon, he’ll pop. We have to guess.
9 A MAJOR OMEN Odd spot for a 3YO, but I guess you have to race them somewhere. Had Dave Miller opted here, I might have given a look. But, the bad post blues continue, and he’ll need a lot of luck.
10 LIVE ON Dave Miller ended up choosing here, but the 10YO does not have a good history from outside posts like this. Maybe Dave will take a shot and leave a little in this impossible race.
6 Sixth Race Entries
Picks: 7-6-3-1
H Horse Comment
1 ROCKIN JIMMY BROWN Marcus ends up here, so he “loses” the drives on #6,8 tonight. The gelding did pretty well out in Indiana, even picking up check against a top colt in Frenchlick! Is he a fit for this group? Maybe.
2 VIRGIN STORM Wasn’t quite as strong here last week. That came on heels of his good, ground-saving efforts. Back to the inside trip tonight and we’ll see if that stretch punch is any bigger. It will need to be.
3 DUDDIE’S LOR Making just his second start back off a very long layoff, and I must admit, I was very happy with what I saw last week. Finished up that mile with a very nice kick. He’s going to be okay. Maybe even enough to win here.
4 PASSA-GRILLE BEACH Wasn’t bad upon arrival with a grinding journey. Wasn’t nearly close enough last week, so just forget about that. Drew nice, midpack post here to stalk again. Hoping for hot pace and live cover.
5 JACK’S SHADOW N A Scotty D invader from Pocono on a roll! BUT, isn’t this field a lot stronger than the one’s he was facing out there? I think so. Big test for class coming tonight, so demand fair price if you think he can win.
6 RESPECT OUR FLAG He’s earned my respect, with many a good mile here! Got a week off, which will probably help. He’s almost always part of the pace battle, but they tried off the pace last time. Which will it be tonight? That’s the key.
7 COVERED BRIDGE He was good enough to make the Crown final! The condition race win at Mohawk is the key here, since he showed speed that night. Will need a little of that, but he should have a decided class edge, right? Trainer: Had to go three-wide way too early in the final when two horses hooked up. Really like him and will be in Matron next.
8 DA DELIGHTFUL No match for the resurgent Captain last week, but it was still a good mile. Tonight’s problem is the post in a field full of potential speeds. I don’t see that nice easy trip coming again. Will have to earn it now.
7 Seventh Race Entries

1 DUBIOUS CLAIM Is it wakeup call time yet? Many from this barn are fitting that question this weekend. If ANY of them have woken up, then expect this guy to as well. Gets both post and class relief. It’s got to be soon, folks.
2 FRANKIE ROCKS A Disappointed again a couple of weeks ago. Made that big move, appearing to blow by Czar and then started “hanging.” I have no idea why? I guess we just have to wait for him to put it all together.
3 REAL LUCKY N Second start off the layoff here. Didn’t learn much from the comebacker. I’ll continue to wait.
4 JUMPING JAKE He really wasn’t bad in those last two and now he gets a drop and a switch to Dexter. Could that all add up to winner’s circle? Maybe. He’s got five wins this year. One of them was here. I wouldn’t talk you off.
5 CONSTNTLYSIDEWYS A Always an impossible horse to try and handicap. We get a different effort just about every time. I see this is a class drop for him too! Can he upset the applecart? Of course! But, we all have to guess.
6 HUDSONANDBERNARD Loomed boldly in that mad scramble finish last week. But, I’m going to rate this field a lot tougher than that one. So, he will need to step up his game even more to get home on top.
7 BACKSTREET LAWYER That was a pretty tough beat if you had him last week. Barely beaten, at the very end, by a former stakes winner. Moves out a few slots, but we know he has plenty of back class. Expect another good try.
8 JOHNNY Q I don’t have a good history of guessing right on Johnny. Have to think he will need this off layoff.
9 NIHILATED TRUTH Passed a couple of them at long odds last week. Same situation here from a tougher post.
10 JK CAPTAIN JACK Burned a lot of money in those last two. One with tough trip. One via disqualification. He doesn’t seem to pack much early zip, so where’s he going from post 10? Not very far.

1 FRANCO TOTEM N Dex had a tough choice in here and opted for this fella over #2. That surprised me! So, we’d better take an extra long look at Franco. Pretty solid everywhere he races. Barn on good roll. Let’s hop on board.
2 BUSHWACKER The Bush had a fairly decent comebacker in race that he HAD to need, yet Dexter opts off here. That’s very mixed signals. So, Dave Miller will take a turn in sulky seat. Can they win it? Yes, if gelding is primed, ready now.
3 ELECTRIC WESTERN He just can’t find a way to win. And he squandered a good trip last time too! So, for betting purposes, I suggest using underneath on the ticket, but NOT on top. He’ll find a way to get a piece somehow.
4 HAPPY TRIO How good is he? That is the question. Followed up the amateur win with a solid burst by the field last week Takes another hike up the ladder, so he’s got to prove it all over again. I’m not so sure about value now.
5 STONEDUST Couple months off for the veteran. We all know he can motor, WHEN he’s primed for best. I imagine the time off will help, but I probably want to watch the first start back. Maybe he’ll surprise me.
6 KEPT UNDER WRAPS A Looks like he’s been just okay lately over at Yonkers in similar spots. Squandered the rail twice with a couple of thirds. When you get the rail, you’d better win! This will be significantly tougher here.
7 OCEAN COLONY Dropped and popped to a very popular result. Looked like he had more in the tank too! We all know he’s got plenty of back class to handle the step back up. Would be very hard to leave off the ticket.
8 CHIP WALTHER Also hiking up the ladder tonight, but did not get help from the post gods. I will pass out here.
9 TOATSMYGOATS Another Yonkers invader. Another longshot. Doesn’t have much good experience here.

1 WILD GOOSE CHASE After a dull first start for the new barn, the Goose has gotten MUCH better! Moves from post 10 to the pole tonight and that puts him back in play. Should get smooth inside trip. He can be used here.
2 JEREMES GENERAL Was okay both here and down at Philly. Seems to be pretty consistent, and I like that. I also like the post here with that stalking style. I can make a case for him to hit the ticket again.
3 BOOGIE NIGHTS After getting sick, gelding came back with a just-okay qualifier. I have a feeling he might need this.
4 AWESOMENESS Took a bunch more betting action last week and was in position, but without the knockout punch. I might add a point or two if Stretch did well again tonight. Midpack post is always ideal for him. Needs another trip.
5 NASCAR SEELSTER As previously stated, IF this barn is having a good weekend so far, expect it to continue with this veteran. Tetrick gets along with him and this is prime wakeup call spot. I have to think they’ll get better very soon.
6 STATEMENT MADE A Gelding finds his way back to East Rutherford, and on a slight drop. A Mac gave him every chance two back and will probably do the same here. Not a ton of speed, so expect an aggressive attempt. Usable.
7 GRIFFON HANOVER Griffon got trapped in, in same race as #4. Prior to that, he flaunted his class to beat weaker. Sometimes he can handle this level, but not always from an outer post. Very mixed feelings here.
8 MAKO BANNER N I guess speed is his best weapon. Blasted out strongly in first try here, but did come up a touch flat late. Maybe not a mile track horse? I guess we’ll find out soon enough. Drew poor post again.
10 Tenth Race Entries

1 CHANGE STRIDE N We’ve all seen this more before! The driver change, drop and pop! Could very well happen tonight. The pole gives Yannick many options and this horse will be live tonight. Only knock: short price?
2 KERRIN JOSEPH A No, I have no idea where that came from last week, but Handicapping Contest participant Joe Pavlica got VERY lucky! Was it a fluke? Maybe. This is a step up and import will need a lot of luck again.
3 DRAGON STRIKES Raced pretty well for his new barn upon arrival. With that said, winner of that race Ocean Colony would be 2-5 in here. Dragon gets Tetrick back. May be biggest threat to #1, provided they get a trip. Not easy.
4 BANK SEA After the win against the amateurs, this fella had his luck run out. Got sick. Bad post at Yonkers. But, he drops here and gets Dave Miller. Both attractive factors. I can make a case he gets a piece of this. Will wait for cover.
5 BARIMAH A After the decent rally for second a few weeks ago, he’s forced UP the class ladder. Facing some droppers here and gets a new driver with Vic not here tonight. Tough to rely on, but good when he gets a trip.
6 MAJOR BUCKS Over from Pocono with mixed form. I need to see one here first. Not my type of play.
7 JACKAMINO Still trying to find the right class for him and I don’t think this is it yet. Will also need better post.
8 WILLIE BOOTS No, I cannot explain how Willie won a race here last week. But he did! Will he do it again? No.
9 STORMONT CZAR A One of the keys to the race, because he’s got speed and he likes to fight. We saw that a couple weeks ago. He was in over his head last time, but this is more like it. I think another aggressive try is coming.
10 MARINER SEELSTER The bad post blues continue! These look too tough for him anyway.
11 Eleventh Race Entries

1 DEMOCRACY N Yes, he had a few traffic issues trying the inside route last week and it didn’t work out. Too bad, because it was a nice trip. Now transitions to a seemingly tougher Trackmaster race. Needs a little more luck.
2 ROCK THREE TIMES Was very good in the pair of wins and then was forced up in class. I think this is a slight drop, so he’s back in the mix with that speed. Also gets A Mac back and he got along with him very nicely on 10/12.
3 HOW ARE YEE JOHN A bit of a no factor at Yonkers on Tuesday. I’m not usually a fan of the short rest thing. Gelding had a few tough trips here before that. Seeking that right class level too, and I don’t know if this is it.
4 THESPYWHOLOVEDME Moves back inside, so that immediately raises his profile. He was very good twice in this Trackmaster class, so let’s expect a complete return to form. I like the post. I like the pace scenario. He can be used.
5 BORN OF FIRE Suffered a tough beat to #7 two back. Never really got into the race last week. I think this is the right spot for him, but the trip from midpack post will have to be right. Should offer fair value, IF you fancy.
6 BAY RUM Looks like the Hochstetler’s left this veteran with the Buter’s. Kind of got shuffled in his first start back here, so I won’t hold that against him. He looks like he’s still fast enough. Would love to see him show speed tonight.
7 MESSI N Super good two and three back. Impossible kind of trip last week. Remains razor sharp for The Mann, so don’t be afraid to toss him onto the ticket again. The only knock is move to an outside post. Might make it tougher.
8 AMERICAN MUSIC Looking like a longshot from another outside post. No speed. Have to pass out here.
9 WINNING LINC Easily the key to the race for our Trainer of the Week! That was an absolute explosion from nowhere last week out of this post. But, will tactics be the same? You can’t win from last every time. Maybe leaves a little?
12 Twelfth Race Entries

1 NEW TALENT First of two from the Cullipher Crew and Tetrick chose this one. Have to respect that choice and expect the Talent to be ready! As previously said, IF barn is having good weekend, he’s a must use! Very talented.
2 INCREDIBLE SHARK In the past, Tetrick has gotten along VERY well with the Shark! So, if he opted to #1 tonight, doesn’t that have to tell us something? Maybe he’ll need a race, after the long ship back from Indiana. Softer spot too!
3 ANOTHER DAILY COPY I’m giving this guy the morning line edge, because he is razor sharp right now for our barn of the week. Loves this track and nothing short of flying finish by better foe got him beat last week. The one to fear!
4 VEGA STAR N It took him a couple starts to find his way in North America, but that was an awfully nice cruise down at Philly. Pretty fast mile too! This is BIG bump up the ladder and I must note that Tim opted off. Let’s see how good.
5 HALLIE’S COMET Destroyed everybody’s Pk4’s two weeks ago. That’s why I HATE to leave Eric A out on a longshot. He sometimes finds a way. Is Hallie really that good? We’ll find out tonight. Might need another 25.4 finish.
6 HAYDEN HANOVER Here’s the horse to catch. He got very good towards the end of the summer meet. Got some much-needed time off to recover. Owns tons of speed and ability. If they let him crawl up front, he’s hard to get by.
13 Thirteenth Race Entries

1 SOMESURFSOMEWHERE Claimed and then immediately put on the shelf. That’s not usually a good thing. Pass.
2 HURRIKANE ALI Took some sneaky betting action in the comebacker last week, but failed to deliver the goods. Will he be any better in the second start off bench? I wish I knew. Gets Yannick again.
3 TAILGUNNER HANOVER This is the horse most likely to improve tonight, with that race under his belt. Won here earlier, with his usual big rally. Seems perfectly positioned for a step forward out of this post. A must use for me.
4 ATOMIC REI Scratched out of post 10. Okay. He’s best as that one-move rallier, and we’ve got a few of them in here. IF he gets to follow #3, that could be very live cover. Either one of them might kick home and win it.
5 RAPID IT UP ART Still looking like a big longshot to me, until we see something more. Pass again.
6 STIMULUS PLAN Up the Turnpike from Freehold with just fair looking form. I would need to see one here first.
7 THE ROCK This one’s been a “check-getter” down at the Hold. This might be a little too tough for him and Joe.
8 PERSIST BLUE CHIP Eric A took a shot and sent this guy out of there and they squandered a good trip. So, I wonder what the plan will be tonight? Looking at all the inside closers, I imagine same thing. Take a shot and send!
9 SPONDULICKS N Here’s the other speed, and he debuts for new barn off the claim. Eric A had the horse and has a speed horse just inside, so you know how this is going to go. They’re both firing out and hoping for the best.
10 DALTON DID IT Loses his regular driver, and moves from pole to post 10. That’s not exactly attractive. Will have to take back and hope for some good luck, or a ground-saving journey. Can’t count on either.
