1 BADIX HANOVER Didn’t race too well over at Yonkers, so Scotty D brings him right back here. Some of those series efforts were okay. I’m not sold on him, but the right trip could see him hit the ticket. I don’t expect him to win.
2 JUNIOR’S DEW The only one in here for the claiming tag. Bouncing around between here and Freehold. Shows that one win. Still looking like a longshot to me.
3 FRANKANDJOANNE Trainer Anderson taking a turn in the sulky seat. Haven’t seen that yet. Quietly, the gelding is in decent form. Was okay last time we saw him here. I would expect to see some early speed at very least. A maybe.
4 BLUEBIRD GOLDWYN Back from Philly with the 0-15 slate. I doubt he can beat these tonight. Pass.
5 WATCHMENEIGHNEIGH Bounced back with a better effort last time. That early miscue cost him before that. I guess it’s all about the trip from this post. The Judge will have to put him in position to launch that big move. I can see it.
6 WALKS OF LIFE A little hard to gauge right now, with some inconsistencies. Slightly better post here, so we might see the switch back to speed. I’d be surprised if MM didn’t take a shot and send here. Can they get to the lead?
7 GOOD DAY MATE Was just too far back to do any damage last week. Okay. Things set up nicely for the big sweep before that. It’s the same situation here. IF the pace is hot, and IF the flow is live, he’s got major chance. No price.
8 FRILLS N LACE Was heavily bet when Joe Lee hopped in the bike last time and the horse did not fire. I’d be very hesitant to accept another underlay price from this post. Would have to show a lot more to upset.
9 BARYNYA A It would be tough to make a strong case on the Saratoga shipper from a rough post. Not for me.
10 DRAMATIC POINT After I had given up on him a few starts ago, he somehow, someway uncorked a dramatically improved effort! I have no idea where that came from. But, I do know he’s got post 10 trying for the repeat. Good luck.

1 QUEEN TILE NO No real threat last week in her division. Same situation here. Likely to sit in, save ground and try to get lucky late. Will need a few things to go her way.
2 ME THREE Went off at a big price in her Big M debut last week and promptly broke. Tough to like off that.
3 SAADET Raced very well for Vic last week! That was a big step in the right direction. This filly took some time to come around, but she’s there now. Comfortable enough to fire out of the gate. I’d like to see that again. Guns?
4 HOT AS HILL It took a while for this lass to reach the front last week, but once she got there, she just coasted away from them. Yes, several things did help, but she was good! Will probably face a bigger test here, but she’s solid.
5 DAZZLING REIGN Seems to be a one-move type, and she could get away last in here. Not sure that’s going to work, but it is a short field. If the faves were to soften each other up, that raises her chances.
6 DUTIFUL She’s the key to the race! Flashed some serious ability out in Kentucky, and then showed up here ready too! That was an excellent, chasing try last week, and in very fast time. IF she goes that fast again, she should win.
3 Third Race Entries
Picks: 1-3-2-4
H Horse Comment
1 ANOKA HANOVER Unfortunately, she wasn’t Breeders Crown eligible, and that’s a shame, because she’s a good one! Couldn’t possibly have looked any better out at the Red Mile. This is very nice spot for her and she’ll be tough to beat.
2 FOX VALLEY LIZA Finally gets a break from the post gods! She’s sandwiched right between the two faves and that will help. Plots for a very nice journey here, and we’ll see if she can trot with them late. Has to pass that test.
3 INSTA GLAM Really like the way she’s progressed this season. Was an easy brush and crush winner in the non-betting race a few weeks ago. This is next logical spot, and figures to give #1 a good tussle. Two horse race?
4 MISS CLEOPATRICK Corey took a shot with her last week and it worked out nicely. This might not be the spot to try that again, but do remember that #1 likes to close. Definitely turning things around and she’s very useful.
5 THE QUEEN B She’s looked a little flat so far, so let’s keep her on the longshot list. Not strong enough yet.
6 QUICKEST HANOVER Can’t say that I’m in love with that last one. Stalked in ideal spot and just didn’t have much trot in slowish last quarter. Will need a LOT more than that to stay in same league with #1,3. I need to see it first.
7 SCIROCCO KATHY W Really not bad so far. She’s a late bloomer, but hasn’t done anything wrong yet. I just hate this post for her tonight. Not sure what to expect, but I’d like to see her keep trotting. Learning the game.

1 FASHION FOREVER Definitely getting some much-needed class relief. But, I just don’t know about his mile track prowess? Will have a little something to prove here and I usually need to see it first. Otherwise, we’re guessing.
1A TAKE A WISH A nice “partner” to have if you like #1. She’s got that great kick at the end of the mile in her bag and jumps up with a big one every once in a while. The big knock is the continued bad post blues. Too far back?
2 VERY VERY FAST Finds his way back to NJ, and back into the Harris barn. There once was a time when he would just crush a field like this. I have to expect that he will bounce back a lot better here. IF primed, ready, he can win. Trainer: He’s back, and not in bad form. Hoping he likes being back with us. Trained very good!
3 SUPER SCHISSEL One of several question marks in here. Former stakes competitor raced well in Ohio, then no-so-great in Indiana. So, I really have no idea what to expect tonight. Take a good, long look at him out on the track.
4 BIODETTI HANOVER Hasn’t won in a long time, so that’s strike one. Liked the off track here a few weeks ago, and it is supposed to rain most of the day. Totally at mercy of pace and trip, but I like this post for him. Chance with trip.
5 CRESURREY MIA for a few weeks and coming off some real clunkers. Maybe the change of scenery will help? I’m really reaching! He will need to turn things around in a big way to get the win. Your call?
6 CASH FOR GOLD One of the possibilities, in this hard-to-handicap race. Nap was listed, but opted to #3. That worries me about this one! He does have speed, in race lacking it. Hot property at the claim box. He knows the big track too.
7 CLASSIC VENTURE Retains large longshot status, having shown very little of late. Not my type of play.
8 DISCUS HANOVER Gets third straight outside post and you see how that’s going. Not very well. Have to pass.
9 CYCLONE MAXIMUS At least this guy packs a fair turn of early speed. Vinny has left with him last week and it’s produced mixed results. Just 1-13 this year, but price should be right. I’d consider using underneath.
5 Fifth Race Entries
Picks: 8-1-3-7
H Horse Comment
1 MASSTRO Had the length of the stretch to get by last time and kind of hung a little. Definitely a “work in progress” but he does have some ability. Yet to put it all together, and I can’t imagine the price will be all that great. Tuf call.
2 AP HALL OF TRIX Another one that’s a total mixed bag. He’s threatened to produce a big one at times, but hasn’t been very consistent. The inside post will keep him close enough. Will have to step up his game a bit.
3 JULA BEAUTY AM One of the fillies in here, trying to beat the boys. Had to need that last one after missing time sick. She has flashed speed so far, so that’s a good thing. I can make a case that she gets a nice trip tonight.
4 BILLIE CLAIRE MIA for a few weeks, so that’s a concern. Her last at the Red Mile was a bit better. But, I haven’t seen enough to make me want to bet her just yet. Let’s see if we get an improved effort.
5 MISTER WALKER Barn’s other starter hasn’t been particularly effective. I’ll rate him a longshot in here.
6 DEVIOUS HANOVER Filly had a very good start here two back. That was much improved effort for her! Didn’t really fire a big bullet down at Philly, but quickly back to the big track. Looks like a follower, so she will need a good trip.
7 COCONUT KATE Kate is coming around! Finally! Tonight’s problem is the move back to an outside post. If she shows no speed. Totally at mercy of both pace and trip. Will have to hope they battle it out up front. Tough call.
8 GROSSETO AS That was a tough beat if you had him two weeks ago. But, it was definitely an improved try. Tries another new driver tonight, in need of some speed. Will have to leave a little, just to overcome the post.
9 SHE ROCKS KEMP She’s just 2-24 lifetime, so that’s not great. She’s also suffering a rough case of the bad post blues. Vic likely to just let her sit at the back and hope the pace falls apart. I’m not so sure about that. Drops.
10 TEQUILA N ROSES This appears to be a huge hike in class. Filly shows up with post 10, and a lot to prove.
6 Sixth Race Entries
Picks: 3-7-6-5

1 TAKE THIS SOCIETY A tad flat in his first start back from Kentucky. Sometimes it takes a race before we see best again, so let’s not be too hard on him. Definitely a work in progress for the barn. Must stay trotting.
2 SWAN BY LAND Enters off a better effort, where he flashed some speed at both ends of the mile. I’d like to see more of that, but will keep him on the longshot list for now. Hasn’t found a way to win one of these yet.
3 SEVENSHADESOFGREY He’s 0-11 so far, but knocking on the door! Did a good job of chasing a solid winner last week, so that’s good. Same speed would put him in position again. Only needs to find that touch more late.
4 BEE FOREVER It’s taking a while for him to learn the game, but I do see signs that he will come around eventually. When he wants to trot, he packs a fairly good kick at the end of the mile. Hoping for some sort of hot pace.
5 JULA MUSCLE PACK Finished FULL of trot last week from a very tough spot. Another jump or two and he was going by. That marked major improvement! Maybe G Nap just got along with him better? I guess we’ll find out tonight. Trainer: Raced great last week from the back of the pack. Hopefully, we can sit a little closer this week.
6 MAGICAL MUSCLE MAN Made a surprising miscue last week and it didn’t look good. Went faster than most of these out in Lexington, so I do wonder what’s coming tonight. His best effort would be good enough. Is it coming?
7 DEE’S RED DELICIOUS Took advantage of a few others mistakes last week, but was still good enough to dig in and hold on. Overall, he’s come along very nicely. Will be tested by this post, but I like what I’ve seen lately.
7 Seventh Race Entries

1 BIZET Uncorked another nice, two-move effort last week. Tells me he’s still sharp. The pole is very interesting post for him. Won’t have to leave as hard, and can save a little more for late. Definitely fits, at a price too!
2 BERKERY K Decent stakes-type trotter debuts for new barn tonight. Was outkicked late in that qualifier, but it was decent effort. And that was Trolley who was coming. No Trolley’s in here. Still tackling older, experienced foes.
3 FOR A DREAMER He’s just not trying hard enough! Sometimes it’s as simple as that. Has the speed to grab good position all the time, but he lacks that punch to by late. Not good enough! Will have to find more.
4 TONY SOPRANO Missed a couple weeks now. Shows a real mixed bag of efforts down at Philly. I do see that this is a drop for him, and he has beaten similar before. I’d definitely want fair price to toss him onto the ticket.
5 MARK OF A BEAST The other 3YO is marching his way up the class ladder. Gets another big track test, but has proven he can handle it. This will be toughest field he’s faced, and he will have to go a bit faster. Very good test!
6 GODSPELL HALL Hit his top gear just a little too last week to catch Konman. But, it was still a good effort, AND he stayed trotting! Both solid signs that he might turn into a useful racehorse. Finally. Will need the right pace, and trip.
7 GOTWUTEVERITTAKES He’s an enigma of a trotter! When he stays on gait, he shows he can trot with the likes of Trolley. Had that one big upset win here this year. Capable of anything. And, T Man knows him now. Dangerous.
8 STENHOUSE HANOVER I took a shot leaving him off the ticket last week and you see how what worked out. Chased a very good, dropdown winner. But, he’s not exactly “rewarded” with the hike up, and move out to bad post.
9 HENDERSON SEELSTER He’s the key to the race! He tends to get very brave on class drops like this. You saw the mile on Oct. 2. Guaranteed to fire out of the gate and if he clears easy, they may not catch. Tough to leave out.

1 HEART OF MINE Loved to see the blast-out speed last time, but she did come up a little short late. So, different kind of strategy to save something for late? She’s been very consistent all season. Might offer better odds tonight too?
2 HIGH MINDED Had a few “traffic” issues last week, so let’s not be too hard on her. Overall, she rounded into form quite nicely. One of four in here for the barn, so one of them has to step up and show a bit more. Maybe this one?
3 LADY MIDNIGHT Used hard to get to the lead last week and paid the price late. Tough beat, if you bet on her at that short price. The odds figure to be bigger tonight, so you do get another shot to get out. Has one good brush.
4 DRESDEN If you were watching closely last week, you saw this filly had a lot of trot near the end. But, I wonder how many saw it, and what the price will be tonight? They’ve got her finishing well lately. That should continue.
5 CLASSICIST Really raced well last week. That was solid speed at both ends of the mile. She almost got by the big favorite late. Same boat here. Midpack post. Have to think she will be aggressive early. Needs trouble-free trip.
6 THREE WAY SPLIT Tried to do the dirty work against these last week. That was from the rail. Likely to get a very different kind of trip from this slot. Probably a minor player, hoping to rally off a hot pace. Might not happen.
7 ALBERGITA HANOVER Marcus drove her aggressively last week, gunning and pulling a bit early. She was just outfinished at the end. Overall, she’s been great all year. She’s reliable. Gets a tough post test tonight.
8 LINDY AT THE BEACH She did win last week, like she was supposed to. But, I thought she was all out. Moves back out to tougher post to make task more difficult. I wouldn’t want that 1-2 price tonight. Your call, folks?

1 BULLY BOY Invades from Ohio with a real mixed bag of efforts. Shows six wins, however. And, he moves into solid barn with “project” horses like this. I will probably want to watch one, but pay attention. Needs an easier spot.
2 JL CRUZE Over $1.5 million now at age nine. He’s just such a good horse, and has been for a long time. I’m happy to see him back in New Jersey, and on a perceived class drop. Will hook up with Trolley at some point. Good race!
3 THUNDER Found the class hike a bit too much last time, and gets forced up again. Hard to like, based on that.
4 TROLLEY Which Trolley shows up tonight? The good one, we all remember. Or, the one that makes breaks? I have NO idea. He was kept under restraint in that qualifier and was fighting through between horses. I thought good.
5 HL REVADON Continues to race well. Even showed that he could handle the class hike to this level. Now, he meets a few “elite” types in #2,4. But, I like the way he’s going. And I want to see the speed again. Puts in good position.
6 CHIPLOSIVE This is about a forty level class hike, folks. Yes, I know he looked pretty good in those wins, but this is a brand new ballgame. I would be highly surprised if he was in same league as the favorites. Your call?
7 ELYSIUM LINDY I expected more out of him last week and didn’t get it. Oh well! Yes, he’s got speed, but lately not the finish to go along with it. Might not even have the lead tonight, with #2 in here. Tough to like a lot out here. Trainer: On the big track, he is a closer. He’s got one move in his elder years. If he times it right, he can upset.
8 TWO AM One of my favorites, but boy is he in a tough spot tonight! Battled bravely to eek out the win at Pocono, but the hike back up will not make things easy. Also, there’s a ton of speed in here. Will he send, or take back, wait?
9 SKYWAY KON MAN Like #6, this is a monster class hike. And, I thought he was all out to beat weaker. Pass.
10 JUSTLIKEHIM Gets third straight bad post. That’s almost not far. Would be hard to like out here again.
10 Tenth Race Entries
Picks: 4-5-1-10
H Horse Comment
1 COMMANDING OFFICER Have to admit, he let me down last week. And, many others that sent him off at 9-5. Meets a bigger, bulkier field tonight and will just have to find more. Must use post to advantage on #9,10. Won’t be easy.
2 HIGH BALLER Had a decent kick, once he hit high gear late. It took a while, but was positive effort. Gets the key inner post again, but must stay out of trouble. Hoping for just the right kind of trip, and one big burst. A maybe.
3 JK OBJECTION Found the class hike to this level just a bit too much. I have to pass off that. Needs a lot more.
4 DONTPASSME HANOVER I still feel mad that I missed the boat on this guy a few weeks ago. He’s turning into a real nice horse, with a powerful finish. Moves inside to give Stevie options. Will probably wait, grind and surge. Must use.
5 ILDERTON AM Where did that effort come from last week? I don’t know. But, it was pretty good! Interesting choice of options here, to hope for easier trip. If he were to follow #4, that would be ideal. Patience will be required. Trainer: Very nice colt that’s been racing the top colts all year. Expecting another good performance.
6 INTELLIGENT AM Not the most consistent of these right now, so let’s put him on the longshot list. Not for me.
7 CAPTAIN SLEAZE Ended up kind of buried in behind the battling leaders last week. Bigger field. Tougher post.
8 MONTEREY JACK Mark Mac put this guy in position last week, but they lacked the knockout punch. I do wonder what the plan will be from this post? There isn’t a ton of speed to the inside. Might take a shot and gun again.
9 SIMON SAYS HANOVER I will admit, I didn’t see that coming last week. But, he proved me wrong with a gutsy, fight-back win. That really showed me something! So, respect now due. Gets much tougher post. How does he get into it?
10 CAPTAIN FANCY Might be the “key” to the race! Why? The speed! I just don’t see pilot grabbing up and taking back to last. But, this is another real test in the class department. He will have to prove it from dreaded starting slot.
11 GAMBLIN MO Second tier start tonight. He’s a stalker anyway. Would need to get very lucky to threaten late.
11 Eleventh Race Entries
Picks: 9-6-7-10
H Horse Comment
1 MILADY DENVER A Picked up a check in Big M return at odds of better than 50-1. So, that’s a good thing! Same situation here. Likely to flash speed, then ride the pylons. Hoping to keep up late.
2 ROSE RUN SAMANTHA Just never wins, so that’s a bad thing. Another looking to sit, save ground, pick up check.
3 LITTLE HONEYBADGER Took a lot of betting action last week and clearly lacked that knockout punch. Will have to find a bigger one, or change up the tactics to get much closer. Gets Nap back. That’s the best positive I have.
4 OVER SPEEDING Did have a little bit of finishing pace in second start here. It was the drop to this bottom level, so maybe we can look for something more from better post? I’ll go with that. Mitch will keep her closer.
5 AP EMILY’S DANCE I thought she’d have trouble transitioning to the big track and she did. That was too tough a trip for her. This is midpack post now and that gives Vinny options. He might look at inside longshots, take shot, send!
6 ENDURING HOPE Hasn’t had a realistic shot in a while. All those bad posts and slow starts. Maybe this is the spot for the Captain to take a stand and send her out of there. She has faced better in the past. 3YO tackling older.
7 IAQUINTA Coming off an improved effort, but how much stock do we put into that? This mare never wins. Maybe I could use her underneath in some gimmicks, but that would be about it. Has to get into the race too!
8 ELLA IS AWESOME Nothing in her recent form suggests a turnaround. That’s what she needs.
9 AVAYA HANOVER Have to admit, this looks like a pretty soft spot for this filly. She just hit the board in a stakes-race, and now she’s in the bottom class via her Trackmaster rating. I hate the post, but see she has speed. One to beat!
10 BOOK THE BET Had she drawn a better post, I could make more of a case. But, this will be no cakewalk! And, she appears to lack speed. That’s not going to help, so T Mac will have to find a way to get lucky.
12 Twelfth Race Entries
Picks: 3-2-1-6
H Horse Comment
1 SONOFAMISTERY That was a very solid win here last week! He won with something left too! The rail here could be tricky post for Mattias. He can’t let Jack get too far away. Let’s see if we get that backside brush again. Good test.
2 ROYSON’S PUNCH I liked this guy last week and he got stuck in a bad shuffle. Finished up nicely when clear too! I don’t know what the trip will be, from this better slot. Mac might have to be aggressive again, to get good position.
3 JACK FIRE Last time we saw him here, he jogged! Did well on the Grand Circuit too! Dug in gamely to win down at Philly. Likely to get to the front here and then try to hold on. Won’t be easy against #1,6. Good test for Jack tonight.
4 SHARE THE WEALTH Broke, even with the hopples on. So, that didn’t work. Have to pass on him tonight.
5 JULA PRO HANOVER Hasn’t had much luck in the series so far. I don’t see that changing tonight. Big price.
6 LINDYSMUSCLEMANIA The gaps between starts are a concern. Just chased along behind Capt. Corey a few weeks ago. Nap knows him now, and I figure total change of tactics tonight. I expect speed! Put him in play!
7 SOUTHERN MAZZARATI Gets stuck with same bad post as last week. That isn’t good. Would need to get very lucky to pass a few of them from the back in here.
13 Thirteenth Race Entries
Picks: 7-1-4-3
H Horse Comment
1 CHIEF JUSTICE Just 1-17 this year, and that win didn’t come here. But, if you think #6 might be vulnerable for any reason, this is one possibility. Packs blast-out speed to grab good position. Would be hard to leave off the ticket. Off L.
2 BRICKYARD KING Won two-in-a-row down at The Hold. But, this will be a brand new ballgame. Would have to go a LOT faster here. At least he’s got an inside post, so he can hit the pylons and try to keep up. That’s a maybe.
3 BROADWAY PROMISE Hasn’t exactly been delivering the goods lately. But, this barn had one wake up big-time last week. Why not this one? Gets a brand new driver to try and motivate. This is field of question marks.
4 SHADY MCCOY Can’t really say that I’m in love with Shady’s last effort. Kind of gapped and never really picked up the bit. But, with that said, he still looks better than some of these. Trying to snap that very long losing skid.
5 FEEL THE MUSCLE If you consider his last an improved effort, maybe you can use now? Let’s see if Harry can keep him trotting all the way. That’s the first step.
6 ALL AMERICAN N He’s either going to win by a block or break, so make your choice! I will probably take a chance and swing against, but let the price be your guide too! If he’s 3-5, do you really risk the farm on him at the gate?
7 EXPLOSIVE Hit the board against a mostly better bunch last time, so that’s not bad. He’s not real speedy at the beginning, but I think he’s raced into shape now and worth a swing at the right price. I’m just taking a shot against #6.
8 BATTLE BORN AS Tough to get excited about his chances, looking at that recent form. Not my type of play.
9 BIG SMOOVE Picks up Simon. Wasn’t terrible in the first try here. Sometimes it takes an acclimating mile. My bigger issue is the post. Will have to get into it somehow. That’s the key part.
10 HALLANET Ended up locking wheels in the follow-up after the miraculous win. So, don’t be too hard on him. Now, it’s a post 10 start and that’s not going to work either.
