1 GRANDMA HEIDI Named after Marcus’ mom and Erv’s wife! The filly has come along nicely over the last month, especially after Lasix was added. I like this spot from another good inside post. Chance to beat some boys for upset.
2 STAR TRACK HANOVER Seems like it’s been a long season for this guy. Was acquired by Team Orange Crush earlier and there have been some good efforts. There also have been some breaks. No match for #1 last time. Same coming?
3 WINNING AMERICAN Very much looking like a “work in progress” for Harris and co. Gets the switch to Tim T here, so that will attract attention. Maybe too much betting attention? I wouldn’t want short price with this one right now.
4 KNIGHTOFVICTORY Returns to Club Med, sporting that 2-30 record. I still remember him winning that night in the slop. I’m going to keep longshot status on the gelding until he starts to show more again.
5 FIERY LADY One of several fillies in here taking on the boys. Have to admit she’s turned the corner recently with some better form. I also see who’s in the bike tonight! The guy who had the hot hand in Lex. A longshot use?
6 SOME MORE PRINCE Invades from the Meadows after suffering a real case of the bad post blues! This spot is only a little better, but Dave M takes the call. I think he’ll be a price, with something to prove here. I need to see it first.
7 STONEBRIDGE SYMBA Been flashing some strong speed in PA lately. Took a different try last out at Philly in the stakes and just looked a little overmatched. Figures to be firing out for the Captain here. Can she pass late?
8 SPECTRE Put on quite a show with some impressive wins here earlier this year. Also raced well over at Pocono last few months. Can’t say I like that last break, but I think he’ll be much better here back on big track. The one to beat. Trainer: Fits in here pretty good. Should be okay.
9 DOC MOSSIES LEGACY Exits a race with a pedestrian pace out at the Meadows. If he couldn’t hold on off a half in 59, how’s he going to hold on here? Especially from a brutal post. I guess I’d like to see one here first.

1 BOMBSHELL HANOVER Took a couple of weeks off, after that disappointing try as big fave at Philly. Couple of his starts have showed real promise, but he’s yet to put it all together. The rail helps. Stalking trip coming?
2 TEAM BEST Probably getting a touch of much-needed class relief here. Been tackling the killers along the way. But, this is no easy spot either vs. the likes of #4,5. I like what I saw out in Lex. Overdue to get luckier and win one. Trainer: Raced good the first week in Lexington. Came first up second week and that’s not his trip. Likes being covered as long as possible, and has talent!
3 ROCKIN THE GATES Was very highly-regarded when he showed up here in the summer. Seems to have continued his good form down at Freehold. Stepping back up to tackle tougher stakes horses tonight. Needs very best.
4 CHIEF MATE Connections have been high on this guy too! Unfortunately, he hasn’t had much luck. Impossible trip in the Bluegrass first over. No chance to catch Elver in the ISS. Switches to Dexter here, and that might wake him up.
5 CAPTAIN BARBOSSA Loved him the first week in Lex and got 6-1! Raced very well last week chasing the top 2YO in North America after that. This Cap is just hitting his stride now and he is very much the one to beat. Getting better!
6 IDEAL PERCEPTION The third of the Alagna Trio in here and perhaps the odd man out? Drew the tough post. Been off a bit since racing in New York. I think he’s going to need this one, to get back on track.
3 Third Race Entries

1 HENNESSY AM S Well-bred colt kept up well in both stakes tries out in Lex. That’s not bad! But, he’s yet to put it all together and win one of these. I have to rate him a longshot tonight, even from the rail. Must find bigger burst.
2 COVENTRY HALL MIA for a little too long, so I have a feeling this fella is going to need one. I’ll pass for now
3 SHEENA SOLDIER It’s just so dangerous to ignore these connections at moment, but here’s a colt that seems to be working on his stamina level. Was in good spot last week at Red Mile and didn’t have enough. Must find more.
4 CHESTNUT HILL This immaculately-bred colt has been off a month, so that can be a problem. We all remember both sire and dam as super high-speed horses. I trust Nifty on layoffs like this. This looks like nice spot to regain form.
5 ALL RISE He was “supposed” to win that Red Mile race last week and dug in nicely for Tyler. Did have to earn it, but I liked what I saw. Colt has been remarkably consistent all season, so can’t fault that. Should flash speed in here.
6 SWISS HOUSE ONFIRE When you look at his company lines, you see all the top horses. No Real Cool Sam’s in here! Won the only time he got that nice, perfect trip. Not sure he’ll get that in here, but barn is hot right now. A maybe.
7 LIGHT BLUE MOVERS A tad inconsistent, and also coming off a sick scratch. So, I want to watch one tonight.
8 SKY CASTLES Here’s the absolute wild card in the race! Harris took over and we’ve seen instant improvement. That Simpson win really sticks out! Yes, he coasted on easy lead, so might need to earn it tonight. Hard to leave out. Trainer: Has enough talent. Plugs-in winner at Philly last start and think he’s only getting stronger.
9 PAYTON’S A CANE Steps up, moves out and exits disappointing loss. Could be a bit overmatched tonight.
10 KING SLAYER The other potential speed player gets the worst of the draw, but packs solid speed. You know Corey doesn’t like to take back, and hopples seems to be helping. Might only need to work on a better finish of mile.
4 Fourth Race Entries
Picks: 7-5-3-6
H Horse Comment
1 KASHA V Got a nice check in that stakes down at Freehold. Not bad! Still seems a little too slow for these on the mile tonight, but I’ve been proven wrong before. Let’s see if the gelding is quick enough to keep up.
2 CROOKIE DIAL Definitely a “work in progress” getting to the races. Debuts tonight with the hopples on, so that seemed to help in the last qualifier. I guess I’d be surprised if he had enough in tank to win this. Let’s watch one.
3 PRAYING RUBY Bargain yearling buy was starting to round into some decent form, until he made that mistake at Pocono. That does make me a little leary. I will take a good, long look at him out on the track and make decision.
4 KREDIT KARMA Most experienced in field with 22 starts so far. That’s a lot! No doubt he’s got some speed in the tank, but he’s yet to show the finish. No wins. I don’t see that changing tonight. Can be used underneath, though.
5 NIGHT HALL Broke his maiden nicely for Steve Smith at Philly two back, and then found the stakes assignment a bit challenging. No worries. Back to a conditioned event here and new driver assigned. Just seems to be faster than these.
6 SKYWAY KON MAN Lightbulb finally went on for the big rallying win over at Yonkers. Could be a touch compromised, IF he starts slow here. The post won’t help. Price won’t be that big. Very mixed feelings tonight.
7 DEPLORABLE TOM Another one that moved into the Harris barn recently. Added Lasix for last week’s qualifier and just cruised around the track untested. Finished up smartly for JB and gets Tim tonight. IF he trots, probably wins. Trainer: Was awesome at Philly! Hooked wheels leaving the gate and had to double him up trying to get out of that situation.
8 HALLINTHECLOUDS The other one from Svanstedt barn. Also lots of races under her belt. She’s the only filly in here and got slammed with the worst post. Not really a quick starter, so she seems up against it in here.
5 Fifth Race Entries
Picks: 4-5-1-2
H Horse Comment
1 COCONUT KATE Gabe P, myself, and the whole world loved her last week in Lex and she came through with a big win! We didn’t get rich, but a winner is a winner! Was launching monster move when she broke. Has real talent!
2 HALL OF AM S Leaving these connections out is usually very dangerous. But, this lass did make a break in her last try over at Pocono. That was several weeks ago. Let’s call her a late-bloomer too! Take a good, long look on the track.
3 MOLTO BENE Homebred here is taking a little while to get the hang of this racing thing. Was just okay last time at Philly and now transitions to the big track. Maybe that’s what she needs? Wasn’t Dave’s choice, but I understand.
4 SENORITA RITA Scotty Z rated this lass perfectly last week, only to get clipped by a sharp filly late. Sports two straight seconds and now runs into another bearcat in #5. Should be good battle and Rita could be tough to catch.
5 DIP ME HANOVER Did not race in Kentucky, while allowed to rest up after her sparkling win up in Canada. She’ll be headed back that way next week for Crown elims most likely. This is just a prep, so expect Dave to grind into it late.
6 ALLSWELL HANOVER She’s coming along nicely for Paul K. The one Kindergarten try at Tioga was good. Maybe got rolling a tad too late over at Pocono, but that was from bad post. I can make a case she steps up with more on big trk.
7 CONFIDANTE Homebred here qualified three times out in Lex, so it looks like they’re being careful with her. No worries! Plenty of races for her to get some experience in. Hasn’t really left the gate yet, so looking off the pace again.
8 ELECTRAPEDIA Couple of decent tries in stakes so far. Dropped and popped to first lifetime win down at Philly. Sometimes, those confidence builders do wonders! She will need to find a tad more stamina, however.
9 JULA BEAUTY AM Really don’t know what to do with Jula in this spot. I hate the post. She’s shown speed, but she also shows a few miscues. Went all the way out to Lex, but only qualified. Why? Was good here vs. Ramona. Maybe?
6 Sixth Race Entries

1 NEVER LATE KAIT Been off a little too long and seems stuck in really tough tonight. I’m going to pass for now.
2 HABANERO K Aimed a tad high in those PA stakes and didn’t quite seem ready for that. I must note she’s been off for about a month, so that’s a concern. Very likely to need this race and we’ll see if she can keep up tonight.
3 HEART N SOUL DEO $100K filly has bounced around in some stakes assignments for top connections. She’s flashed nice speed, and is probably in need of a confidence builder. I like the post. Tetrick’s choice. Reasons to use here.
4 MAMBO A little late to the party, but okay with some speed so far. She will need to work on the stamina level, but that may come with experience. I’m going to take a pass on her for now, and watch for some improvement.
5 CREATURE OF HABIT Has a couple of good starts under her belt so far, and I don’t see any mistakes. That’s key with these young fillies. She’s certainly got some pedigree. Eligible to get a LOT better against a field like this. Dexter on!
6 WORD OF HONOR I must admit, I did pick against her last time and that was a mistake. After some time off, she came back razor sharp for Team Orange Crush. Won wrapped up, exactly the way you want. A little bigger test here.
7 STELLA KEMP Looking like a longshot in her return to the big track. Has to find a lot more speed to threaten.
8 ALYVIA DEO Moving into a new barn here, so let’s pay attention. This is the kind of horse that Team Harmon usually makes hay with! I’m not in love with the post tonight, but will be watching closely for more kick. Pay attention. Trainer: Just got her back from Canada. She draws in a little tougher.
9 KEYSTONE BULLSEYE Coasted through some soft splits at Pocono and still got a little tired. Not good enough yet in the stamina department and I really hate the post too! Not for me from out here.
10 HEAVEN Could be the key to this race! Why? The speed and the recent improvement. Those were two strong miles out in Lex, so this lass is coming around. Expect Marcus to at least float out of there. Can be used at whatever price.
7 Seventh Race Entries

1 OBERTO Except for that one mistake, this guy has been remarkably consistent this year. Seems to have a distinct closing style, so the rail can be a little tricky. Pat will have to stay out of trouble and find clearance. A maybe.
2 SMOKEE MIRRORS Tough to get a real handle on this fella right now. I guess I’d need to see a good one first.
3 CAPT CHAPS HANOVER Yes, that was really a 94-1 upset in the Pennsy Sires Stakes final. The race fell apart late and Ronnie Wrenn just fired up the cones. So, there is some talent in this tank at times. Interesting spot here at price?
4 GEMOLOGIST Down from home base for a big track try and he looks a tad overmatched against these. I’ll pass.
5 OMAHA OMAHA Really don’t know what to do with this guy. I’m not in love with that last break over at Yonkers, but Bucci usually sneaks in here and finds good spots. Will the big track wake horse back up? Very good question.
6 CRUISING IN STYLE By now, you’ll know if barn is having a good night. And if yes, you better think about using this gelding. He’s been battling better foes and deals with some 3YO’s here, including fillies. Should step up his game. Trainer: Good, honest trotter that should love the long stretch when he’s in tracking position.
7 FINAL CLAIM Seems to have tailed off for now and that’s a shame! Was very good in some spots here earlier this year. Wasn’t Dave’s choice, opting to other Burke horse. I understand. Let’s see if he stays trotting tonight.
8 SWEET CHAPTER One of two fillies in here, that get added in via alternate condition. In truth, it’s not really a good spot for them, especially from outer posts. I won’t question her ability, but I question betting on her tonight. Tuf call.
9 WINNDEVIE Very talented lass here for Team Trond. Battled, trading victories with Quincy all year in New York and had to settle for second in the final. No disgrace there. Prepping for Crown tonight? I think so. Rallies from behind.
10 EXS AND OHS Actually got good over at Yonkers recently, but this does look like impossible task out here.

1 ROCKNIFICENT Got shuffled in a bad spot two back at Lex. Then expectedly got overbet last week and did not deliver the goods. She’s more than capable of bouncing back here, but hopefully at better odds. Drew nice post.
2 LOVE FOR SAIL Flashed wicked speed out of post 10 last time and it took a big mile from winner to get by her late. Had impossible trip before that. Moves back inside to aid the cause and I can make a case for her to step up, upset.
3 SOMEBEACHSOMEDAWN Homebred here has been learning her lessons well down at Philly. Taking the big step up here to tackle faster stakes company and I guess I need to have her prove it. Must go a LOT faster vs. these.
4 HEN PARTY I really like the way this filly is going right now. Those are sneaky-good lines from her past two starts. Trust me, she’s better than she shows! IF you think you can beat #1,2, this is your shot. Gloves come off tonight.
5 COURTING MARIE Only a couple of starts for Pat so far and they’re all good. No, she hasn’t faced rivals like this yet, but she’s heading in the right direction. Perfect midpack post for a stalking trip. Let’s see if Marie is ready to rock late!
6 CAVIART HEATHER Things got a little “western” down at Freehold last time and this lass burst by the field. Yes, those kinds of moves are impressive. She might need a similar sort of setup and I don’t know if that’s coming in here.
7 JK LADY LOVE Not sure what was going on in the Bluegrass, but she didn’t want to play that day. That gives me concern, so take a good, long look at her out on the track before you decide to bet. She must be relaxed.
8 ANTHEM MIA for a tad too long, especially after a stakes win. It was a good step-up for her though! Been packing some good late bursts, but how far back will she be tonight? That IS the question. Maybe too far back.
9 DESTINYS CHILD Nifty’s fillies both got slammed at the post draw. They’ve both shown little early speed thus far, so I have my doubts. Plus, it took this lass a while to come around. Let’s watch her from the back of the pack tonight.

1 CABOWABOCUTTIE Not sure this is the right spot for this mare. She seems to be in too tough. I’ll pass.
2 ODDS ON ST LUCIE One of two 3YO fillies in here, and this is no easy spot for them! Had a disaster in the PASS final, but bounced back nicely with strong qualifier behind Tall Dark. Must use her inner post to advantage vs. 7,8,9.
3 AMERICAN EMPRESS N Bouncing up and down the class ladder with a lot of bad posts lately. She’s doing good work too! Working on that overall record, but Andy Mac chose her and she does have a longshot chance.
4 NEWSDAY Amazingly, she’s just 1-22 this year. She’s way too good a mare for that record. I do think she will like being back on the big track, but there are still some concerns. I’ll be watching closely for some improvement.
5 EASY THREE New barn here? Worked her way too high in class out at the Meadows. This is no slouch spot here, though. Will have to step up her game a little to be competitive. Matty K takes the call and tries to wake her up.
6 FOOL ME AGAIN The other sophomore lass has been suffering the bad post blues of late. She did overcome difficult trip to win at the Spa. Nice! Wasn’t Tetrick’s pick, but can still be used in the gimmicks. Price should be okay.
7 JEWELS FORREAL Couldn’t be any sharper, so I make her the horse to beat tonight! That’s a strong win, and a super try prior to that vs. Gold Orchid, who would be 2-5 in here. I really like her improved speed. Should be firing out.
8 MONICA GALLAGHER I have a ton of respect for this hard-trying mare! But, she didn’t have a great start on Tuesday at Pocono and I’m never a fan of the short rest thing. Would have to step up her game a lot to beat these.
9 ROCKIN THE BOYS A This was Tim’s choice over #6 and I get it! Barn could be having a huge night and if so, you better hop on here too! Last time she raced this level, she crushed. May only need to overcome the tough post.
10 KEENE OLIVIA Another bad post blues candidate. This doesn’t look like the right spot tonight, but I’ll take an extra look if any betting money shows up.
10 Tenth Race Entries

1 MARLOE HANOVER Dave Miller did have a tough choice in here and opted for Baby over this lass. But, trust me, this lass is pretty good too! Couldn’t have been more impressive in Lex, and has good history here too! Hard to leave out.
2 CAVIART SUNKIST Caviart Farms homebred is coming along nicely, but at a slightly lesser level. She chased in those KYSS, some vs. #4. I like the post and Andy Mac hops back aboard. Likely to sit in, stalk and try to get lucky late.
3 FIREFLY Been a little overmatched of late, after bouncing between barns. The post relief alone should keep her closer, but I’d still need to see a big mile before I could bet. Has to step up with more kick.
4 BABY YOUR THE BEST Didn’t prove best in either Red Mile try, but it took BIG miles to get by her. She’s “overdue” to land back in the winner’s circle after three straight seconds! Will be the one to beat, but must deal with BOTH #1,8 late.
5 SHINING BEAUTY Flew home the first week in Lex when the race fell apart late. Didn’t pack the same punch week two, so I have no idea what to expect tonight. IF things get “western” with the faves, she’ll be charging home late.
6 REAL LONG HANOVER Comes off a disaster trip last week. Was gutsy and game, battling before that vs. #5. She’s going to make a move in here, but I don’t know if it will be enough. Also loses Dexter to #8. Several knocks.
7 BJ’S ROCKET Moving into new barn tonight. They’re definitely aiming high here, and the post isn’t going to help.
8 ANNABELLE HANOVER Has clearly rounded into super form now for Camp Norman! She just exploded once loose last week in Lex. Plus, her early speed has improved. Dex ain’t taking back here, but will hope for the trip behind #4.
11 Eleventh Race Entries

1 LASA DIDA LADY Taking a BIG step up in class tonight, after dominating weaker at Freehold. Won’t be that easy.
2 ROUNDTOWN ROCKER We’ve seen his act here many times. Now in Rick Dane Jr’s barn. Dropped last time at Pocono, but ran into a very fast mile. Usually, he keeps up better than that. Inside post. Marcus still on. Speed coming. Trainer: The bigger the track, the better he is! Has good early speed and should parlay into a good trip.
3 HAMMER TIME Back to Club Med after some tours of the oval at Vernon. Set a pretty wild pace last time, but came to a crawl late. That’s hard to like, but I do know he likes it here. Will have to find a way to rate better, or get a trip.
4 ATABOY HANOVER Gets the tepid call as favorite, due to the class drop and post relief. Barn was hot at end of Lex, so that should carry over here. This veteran figures to step up his game vs. a field like this. Corey back aboard.
5 CARTIER ZETTE Had Tetrick opted here, I’d probably like a little more. Owns more wins this year than any other. Gets in via the Trackmaster rating, so he doesn’t have to go for the tag. He’s a grinder, so smooth trip is required.
6 MISS RUBY Working her way down in class now and eventually she will wake back up. I’m guessing it won’t be tonight, but maybe she can prove me wrong? Missed couple weeks. Let’s see what we get tonight.
7 GOLDEN MUSCLE This was TT’s choice, so let’s take an extra look. New barn. A fresh look sometimes works. There is a touch of back class. I’m not in love with post, or potential pace scenario. Demand fair value, if you fancy.
8 LUCKY SHEILA Moved into Team Bongiorno barn and paid instant dividends! That’s always a good thing. I do think she’s facing a better bunch here , and from another outside post. It’s not going to be easy, folks. Your call tonight?
9 AUTEUR HANOVER Arrives with a 1-25 slate, and coming off a break. That spells pass for me.
10 CHECKMATE TIME Yes, this mare has gone some huge trips here in the past. Was also entered at Philly today, so I don’t know which spot they will choose. Regardless, this is post 10 and that always hurts. Not for me.
12 Twelfth Race Entries

1 TERRITORY Diamond Creek homebred here and still a work in progress. Hasn’t won yet, but has kept up in some stakes company. He’s in against a killer here, but does have the rail. Needs all of that speed to protect the pole. Adds L.
2 BRAZEN BRAZILIAN Has faced significantly lesser and without enough success. A big longshot tonight.
3 MAJOR RISKY Just ran into a well-meant buzzsaw in Kentucky. It was still a top-quality effort. He did a lot of the dirty work until the end. Could be very different trip coming here, but I can’t put him in same league with monster Papi.
4 PAPI ROB HANOVER Looks like a nice, easy soft spot to get ready for the Breeders Crown. Finished up FULL of pace in the Metro and he’s developed nicely for Mr. Pelling. A really top horse that should cruise through this easily.
5 FORCE N FURY Exits the same race as #3 out at Red Mile and he wasn’t bad. But, he also wasn’t great. It was still the fastest he’s paced, so maybe I’m being too hard on him. Seems to be getting better, and might get to follow Papi.
6 THE GREEK FREAK This was Tetrick’s choice over #3. That’s a BIG call. My problem with this spot, is the post! He doesn’t usually leave. Hard to believe he hasn’t hit the board yet. That will change soon.
7 SEA OF LIFE Where’s he going from this starting slot? Probably not very far. Needs some sort of luck to try and hit the ticket from out here. Demand big value, if you think he can.

1 LULU DE VIE Invades with a 3-38 overall record last two years. Not great. Gets a gift with the pole position draw, however. That might improve her “check chances.” Only has to sit in, save ground and try to get lucky late.
2 INVERSE HANOVER Hard to believe she’s only won once race this year. Wow! But, this is prime spot to regain some confidence. Comes off a needed speed tightener out at Hoosier and IF she’s right, she is clearly the one to beat.
3 DUCK DUCK DRAGON I guess if you think #2 is vulnerable, then the Duck could be an option. She’s also faced better along the way and comes off a sneaky-good wakeup mile last time. That same speed would serve her very well in here.
4 MAJOR MAID Seems to have tailed off and will probably need this one. I’ll be watching for any improvement.
5 FOLLOWTHEWIND N Another good possibility tonight with Scotty Z. She’s faced better. She’s raced well here in the past. I like the post and potential for trip. IF the faves come up dry, watch for this lass to finish. Some value too!
6 SWEETER LULU Dropped and popped in a soft spot down at Philly. Yes, this is a step back up, but confidence builders sometimes work wonders. Pat chose her over #7 as expected. I’d like to see that same speed again please.
7 HAPPILYEVERFASTER Have to think this is a HUGE step up and Mr. Berry opted off. Not for me tonight.
8 PARTAGAS BLUE CHIP I don’t see a whole lot in that Monti form to make me expect success here. Your call?
9 VINTAGE BABE No wins yet this year. A horrible post drawn. Not much early zip, so clearly up against it.
10 ROSY OUTLOOK She shows leaving the gate once, over at Yonkers. To have ANY shot, she has to at least float out. Likes to win, overall. Has faced better. I wouldn’t leave her off the ticket completely.
